Job Description

This role involves providing 24/7 technical support for Motorola Solutions' push-to-talk communication platforms in a mission-critical, cloud-based SaaS environment. The engineer will troubleshoot complex cross-platform issues, including OS, networking, and database problems, handle live production incidents, and debug application and infrastructure issues. Responsibilities also include deploying applications, configuring networks, monitoring performance, and developing tools for log parsing and health monitoring to ensure smooth PTT service usage.
Good To Have:
  • Experience with Azure DevOps.
  • Knowledge of Databases.
  • Proficiency in Linux Administration and Shell Scripting.
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes.
Must Have:
  • Ability to work in a 24/7 mission-critical environment, including shifts and weekends.
  • Provide 24/7 on-call support for critical services.
  • Troubleshoot complex cross-platform issues (OS, Networking, Database) in a cloud-based SaaS environment.
  • Handle live production incidents and debug application/infrastructure issues.
  • Troubleshoot 'Push-To-Talk' solution issues, including joining customer calls and capturing logs.
  • Deploy 'Push-To-Talk' applications and configure networks.
  • Monitor network, application performance, and service integrity.
  • Knowledge of Basic Networking Protocols.
  • Experience in Linux/Unix Administration.
  • Proficiency in web-based applications debugging.
  • Understanding of Docker and Azure Basics.
  • Basic understanding of AWS CloudWatch.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to handle customer calls.

Department Overview

An engineer is responsible for overall health analysis and troubleshooting platforms of push-to-talk communications solutions provided by Motorola Solutions. Work with the customer for a smoother usage of PTT services.

Job Description

  • Ready to work in a 24*7 mission-critical environment. This includes shift work and weekends.
  • Engineers should be responsible for providing 24/7 on-call support to satisfy the critical services agreed with the customer.
  • Able to troubleshoot complicated, cross-platform issues, handling OS, Networking, and Database in a cloud-based SaaS environment, and handle live production incidents, debug/troubleshoot application and infrastructure issues
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and drive ‘Push-To-Talk' solution issues to resolution by joining live troubleshooting calls with customers, capturing application logs and network captures, and escalating the issue to a next-level engineer if necessary.
  • Deploy the 'Push-To-Talk' application and configure the network for communication across servers.
  • Monitor network performance, application performance, and service integrity.
  • Develop tools and provide web services to parse application logs, system health information, and network captures to help in faster debugging and reduce issue resolution time.
  • Develop tools to automate monitoring that assess and monitor Key Performance Indicators of the 'Push-To-Talk' solution and provide one-stop interfaces that indicate the health of the solution.

Basic Requirements

  • Docker and Azure Basics [Understanding of Virtualized Environments]
  • Basic understanding of AWS CloudWatch
  • Great communication skills
