The Test Intern will join the HID firmware team to test USB/BLE/2.4GHz HID gaming keyboards and mice. Responsibilities include executing functional, compatibility, and regression tests on multiple platforms (Windows, macOS, Linux), assisting in test case execution, performing manual and automated tests for features like key scanning and lighting effects, logging defects in Jira, and working with engineers to reproduce and verify fixes. The role involves generating test reports and documentation.
Must have:
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science.
  • Familiarity with Windows/macOS and device drivers.
  • Good analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to write clear and concise documentation.
Good to have:
  • Understanding of USB HID protocol and peripheral device functions.
  • Passion for computer peripherals or gaming gear.

Job Details

General Purpose:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented intern to join our HID firmware team for firmware testing. As a Test Intern, you will assist in the testing and validation of USB/BLE/2.4GHz HID gaming keyboards and mice. You will gain hands-on experience in product testing, test case execution, and issue reporting within a fast-paced engineering environment.

Position Summary, Responsibilities and Expectations:

• Execute functional, compatibility, and regression tests on HID keyboard and mice devices across multiple platforms (Windows, macOS, Linux).
• Assist in executing test cases and test plans.
• Perform manual and automated tests for features such as key scanning, button mapping, macros, lighting effects, and LCD control (if applicable).
• Log defects and track issues using Jira.
• Work closely with firmware and test engineers to reproduce and verify fixes.
• Assist with test report generation and documentation.

Essential Skills and Experience:

Required Qualifications:
• Currently pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• Familiarity with Windows/macOS operating systems and device drivers.
• Good analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to write clear and concise documentation and test reports.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Understanding of USB HID protocol and peripheral device functions.
• Passion for computer peripherals or gaming gear is a plus.
