How We Operate
[P1] works by selecting positive-impact nonprofit and open source game projects worthy of community support and then collaborates with volunteers to organize the volunteer workforce needed to complete such games.
Role Description
This is a remote volunteer role for a Game Development Mentor at [P1] Games. The Game Development Mentor will be responsible for guiding and supporting volunteer developers in various disciplines, including design, programming, art, and production.
Responsibilities
As a volunteer Game Development Mentor, you have the flexibility to choose your own hours and set your own deadlines. Since we are a volunteer organization, you may choose the responsibilities you feel confident in at any given time:
- Providing one-on-one mentorship and guidance to volunteer developers in their respective areas of expertise.
- Facilitating workshops and training sessions to improve the skills and knowledge of the development team.
- Reviewing game development projects and providing constructive feedback to help improve quality and efficiency.
- Assisting volunteers in setting realistic goals and helping them to stay motivated and on track.
- Creating a supportive and collaborative environment that fosters learning and professional growth.
- Staying updated with the latest trends and best practices in game development to share with the team.
