Job Details

Job Content / Main task

Responsible Development Area, Business Overview, and Role/Position within R&D of the Affiliated Organization

This team is responsible for Nissan's vehicle dynamics.

It is a department that develops vehicle dynamics without boundaries, covering a wide range of areas such as powertrain performance, handling and ride comfort performance, and autonomous driving.

The job involves setting targets for new values for which there are no existing indicators, developing control systems that integrate powertrain, suspension, steering, and brakes to achieve these targets, and conducting simulations and actual vehicle verifications to provide customers with unique Nissan value.

Specific Job Content and Expected Role/Position within and outside the Department

  • Creation of new value using vehicles
  • Target setting for new values and consideration of methods to achieve targets (performance planning)
  • Verification of achievement methods through simulation - actively utilizing new experimental facilities such as driving simulators, not just analysis.
  • Verification of performance achievement with actual vehicles, and consideration of countermeasures if there are issues.

You can develop new vehicles while constantly interacting with cars at each verification phase. It is a very rewarding job where you can feel like you are "developing automobiles," as you sometimes verify the achievement level by driving yourself on test courses or even overseas evaluation courses.

Workplace Environment and Work Style (Member Composition and Workplace Atmosphere)

The main team you will belong to consists of about 10 members, gathering people with experience in various fields. Furthermore, you will work with many people from experiments, related suspension, steering, tires, body, powertrain and chassis control (e.g., braking control) component/system design, other performance design such as sound and vibration, analysis, research, and measurement. Diversity and work style options are, of course, important, and you can work with development bases in North America, Europe, China, and other overseas locations. Another appeal is that you can gain a wide range of knowledge and proceed with your work with the support of experienced experts in each field.

Selling point of this position

Job Satisfaction and Skills Gained Through the Work

You can gain broad and deep knowledge of automotive vehicle dynamics. From a software perspective, you can gain knowledge of powertrain, chassis, and brake controls by creating value that combines them. From a hardware perspective, you can learn about the mechanisms and characteristics of the body and chassis, and the biggest point is that you can acquire system-level technical skills that combine both software and hardware. Furthermore, since vehicle dynamics are performed using the vehicle itself, and the vehicle itself is treated as the development target rather than components, experiencing the true essence of an automobile company is one of the most significant satisfactions.

Future Career Paths and Positions

After developing your career as an engineer, it is possible to advance to technical expert or management positions.

Skills and Experience Required

MUST

  • Graduated from a science or engineering faculty at a university.
  • Possession of a driver's license. Ability to promptly obtain an AT-restricted解除 (automatic transmission restriction removal) after passing the exam.
  • Love for driving cars.
  • General knowledge of handling stability and ride comfort performance, basic knowledge of vehicle dynamics, vibration engineering, control engineering, mechanical dynamics, physics, and mathematics.
  • English communication skills.

TOEIC: 550 points or higher

WANT

  • Basic knowledge of control engineering.
  • Development/design experience in the chassis industry, such as suspension/steering.
  • Development/design experience in electric vehicle control and vehicle motion control.

TOEIC: 730 points or higher
