As a Web Specialist, you will design, develop, and maintain websites and web applications with a focus on WordPress. Responsibilities include converting designs into web pages using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, optimizing websites for performance and SEO, creating documentation, and resolving technical issues. You will also collaborate with the marketing team to support their digital initiatives and ensure timely, high-quality solutions. The role involves contributing to the development and maintenance of various websites and web applications.
Must have:
  • Experience in WordPress development including themes and plugins.
  • Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript and related frameworks
  • Understanding of responsive design and cross-browser compatibility
Good to have:
  • Ability to build wireframes from stakeholder input and user stories.
  • Knowledge of accessibility and solutions conforming to ADA.
  • Understanding of web optimization techniques.
  • Understanding of basic SEO principles.

Job Details

We are seeking a talented and motivated Web Specialist with a strong background in WordPress development, front-end technologies, and back-end development. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, along with hands-on experience in WordPress modules and plugin development. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and maintain high-quality websites that enhance user experience and meet our business objectives.

In this role, you will contribute to the development and maintenance of various websites and web applications. The ideal candidate is a creative problem-solver with a strong foundation in both design and development, a keen eye for detail, and a passion for turning concepts into innovative digital experiences. As part of the marketing team, you'll work closely with marketing to best support their needs, ensuring timely, high-quality solutions that align with business goals.

Key Responsibilities 

  • CMS: Design, develop, and maintain CMS (Wordpress), including theme, module and plugin modifications. Support digital marketing initiatives in the build of high performing pages.
  • Technical: Convert design mockups into web pages using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Optimize: Ensure website tracking, performance, and analytics. Use SEO best practices to drive more traffic. Assist in setting up A/B testing and personalization to improve website conversion rate and engagement.
  • Enablement and Documentation: Greate how-to guides for CMS for users and technical docs for management.
  • Maintenance: Setup processes and technologies to make the CMS/website secure. Resolve functionality, performance, and compatibility issues.
  • Integrations: Work with API’s to improve the creation process, create personalization, and any technology to improve database.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or Certificates in Web Development, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience in a CMS (WordPress, HubSpot, Wix) development, including custom themes and plugins.
  • Proficiency in HTML, HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, and related frameworks (e.g., jQuery, Bootstrap).
  • 1+ year experience working in WordPress
  • 1+ years experience in CSS, HTML, and JavaScript
  • Understanding of responsive design principles and cross-browser compatibility
  • Familiarity with browser dev tools and debugging methods

Nice to have:

  • Ability to build wireframes from stakeholder input, user stories, and use cases
  • Knowledge of accessibility and solutions that conform to ADA
    Understanding of web optimization techniques
    Lead architectural and design discussions to build shared content across teams
  • Understanding of basic SEO principles
  • Familiarity with Figma, Git or version control

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; proficient with presenting to cross-functional teams.

Salary Range

$66,000.00 - $93,500.00

This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on relevant experience, other job-related qualifications/skills, and geographic location (to account for comparative cost of living). The Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. For this role, benefits include: health/vision/dental insurance, 401(k), PTO, parental leave, and medical leave, STD/LTD insurance benefits.
