The Workday Product Manager serves as the critical link between technical capabilities and business needs, ensuring the system is robust, scalable, and strategically aligned. This role defines and drives the vision, roadmap, and priorities for Workday, making sure it supports and advances the company’s overall product and business objectives. You will join a professional, knowledgeable, and supportive HR team in ensuring staff are empowered and engaged, focusing on HRIS software configuration, policies, and practice.
Must have:
  • Understand underlying architecture and system design to make informed decisions about functionality, scalability, and performance.
  • Develop structure and process for testing, implementation, and maintenance of the system.
  • Manage system governance including control documentation and compliance efforts.
  • Administer security (roles and access) for all modules, managing user permissions and system settings.
  • Oversee third-party vendor relationships and ensure service level agreements (SLAs) are met.
  • Lead and coordinate projects related to bi-annual Workday releases, system updates and integrations.
  • Partner with HR, Payroll, Finance, and IT to address integration needs and system enhancements.
  • Develop, organize and deliver system documentation, user guidelines and training materials/sessions.
  • Monitor system performance, gather user feedback, and leverage data insights to drive future development.
  • Anticipate business needs, mitigate risks, and provide solutions to complex technical challenges.
  • Strengthen internal communication and visibility of Workday functionalities across the organization.
  • Serve as partner & backup to HRIS Administrator for troubleshooting and configuration of the HCM.
  • Resolve customer tickets for the HCM.
  • Bachelor's degree in information systems, computer science, business administration, HR management, or similar field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as an HRIS and/or FIN administrator.
  • Experience with Workday including HCM, Payroll, Benefits, Reporting, Absences, Advanced Compensation, Recruiting, Prism, Time Tracking.
  • Strong project management experience (at least 2 years).
  • Basic knowledge of labor legislation and data protection regulations.
Good to have:
  • Advanced experience with the building and maintenance of calculated fields is strongly preferred
  • Workday Certification preferred but not required

Compensation:

The salary range for this position is $107,911-145,680. Compensation is based on location and experience.

Job Summary:

The Product Manager at Meow Wolf serves as the critical link between technical capabilities and business needs, ensuring the system is robust, scalable, and strategically aligned. This role defines and drives the vision, roadmap, and priorities for Workday, making sure it supports and advances the company’s overall product and business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Workday Lead (40%)

  • Understand the underlying architecture and system design to make informed decisions about functionality, scalability, and performance.
  • Develop structure and process for testing, implementation, and maintenance of the system, ensuring performance, scalability, and security.
  • Manage system governance including control documentation and compliance efforts, adhering to internal and external data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, PII). Lead the Workday Committee, which includes monitoring and vetting system changes.
  • Administer security (roles and access) for all modules, managing user permissions, system settings, scheduled reports and reviews.
  • Oversee third-party vendor relationships and ensure service level agreements (SLAs) are met.
  • Lead and coordinate project related to bi-annual Workday releases, system updates and integrations.
  • Partner with HR, Payroll, Finance, and IT to address integration needs, business process improvements, and system enhancements.
  • Develop, organize and deliver system documentation, user guidelines and training materials/sessions for users to enhance system adoptions and effectiveness.
  • Monitor system performance, gather user feedback, and leverage data insights to drive future development.
  • Anticipate business needs, mitigate risks, and provide solutions to complex technical challenges.
  • Strengthen internal communication and visibility of Workday functionalities across the organization.

HRIS Subject Matter Expert (60%)

  • Serve as partner & backup to HRIS Administrator for troubleshooting and configuration of the HCM.
  • Resolve customer tickets for the HCM.

Required Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in information systems, computer science, business administration, HR management, or similar field or equivalent experience
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience as an HRIS and/or FIN administrator
  • Experience with Workday including HCM, Payroll, Benefits, Reporting, Absences, Advanced Compensation, Recruiting, Prism, Time Tracking, etc.
  • Strong project management experience (at least 2 years)
  • Advanced experience with the building and maintenance of calculated fields is strongly preferred
  • Basic knowledge of labor legislation and data protection regulations
  • Experience in analyzing HRIS & FIN performance metrics and improving processes
  • Experience in performing diagnostic tests and audits, as well as documenting processes
  • Ability to keep information confidential, particularly PII
  • Workday Certification preferred but not required
  • Ability to provide, in user-friendly terms, sound ideas and solutions to end users on HR & FIN systems-related questions, tasks, projects and reports
  • Demonstrates an understanding of business objectives both internally and externally which impact the company’s ability to achieve its objectives
  • Strong understanding of data ETL pipelines
  • Experience developing reporting or self-service tooling for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proven track record of using operations data analysis to identify opportunities, pain points, courses of action, and the underlying causes behind issues
  • Experience communicating results of analyses to non-technical stakeholders who are the users of systems involving metrics, pipelines, and dashboards
  • Experience in producing business intelligence for operations teams, using outputs of pipelines, dashboards, and other infrastructure
  • Experience in one of more of the following programming languages: Python, PHP or Haskell.
  • Experience working with data visualization tools (e.g. Power BI / Tableau)
  • Experience operating strategic projects with cross-functional partners

Must be able to lift up to 5 pounds at times.

Work Schedule:

This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 9a.m. to 5 p.m. or 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
