The Manager, Ad Operations is responsible for managing a team of Ad Operations specialists who implement, maintain, and enhance online advertising campaigns.  This role involves supporting the team in managing Sales and client expectations, creating efficient workflows, identifying automation opportunities, and ensuring fair workload distribution.  Key responsibilities include team motivation, training, mentoring, career pathing, performance management, and compliance.  The position requires client-facing communication (internal and external) and involves campaign management support, revenue tracking & analysis, and collaboration with QA and Engineering teams.  Specific tasks include setting up and managing campaigns, optimizing performance, providing reports, troubleshooting technical issues, analyzing data, identifying revenue risks, and making strategic recommendations.

<p><strong>This role is responsible for managing a team of Ad Operations specialists who implement, maintain, and enhance online advertising campaigns. This position involves supporting the team with managing Sales and client expectations, creating successful workflows and processes, identifying automation opportunities, ensuring efficient workload distribution as well as motivating, educating, training and mentoring the team. The Manager of Ad Operations is responsible for their team’s career growth by creating career pathing, identifying growth areas and opportunities, and supporting their team members in participation in skill-developing projects. They will also ensure their team’s performance and compliance with processes.</strong></p>
<p><strong>This is a client facing role, requiring communication with both internal (Sales team) and external clients (agencies).</strong></p>

<li>Identifying growth and learning opportunities for team members</li>
<li>Tracking deal flow as well as team bandwidth</li>
<li>Effectively distributing workload</li>
<li>Mentoring, educating and training team members&nbsp;</li>
<li>Maintaining a knowledge base of the team</li>
<li>Ensuring delivery of tasks &amp; compliance with processes from team members, holding them accountable</li>
</ul>
<p><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Campaign Management / Support (when necessary - we provide training on tools and methodologies):</span></strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Set-up and manage direct IO &amp; programmatic campaigns</li>
<li>Work with our Sales Team to optimize existing campaigns</li>
<li>Provide campaign reports for programmatic deals and make recommendations on growth areas</li>
<li>Support teams with resolving technical issues around campaigns&nbsp; and troubleshoot delivery issues with Publisher Support team, as well as with clients</li>
<li>Help the team analyze and solve technical issues that arise in ad delivery, targeting and/or performance&nbsp;</li>
<li>Support the team in partnership/vendor communications, analyzing data and deal setup</li>
<li>Solve ad quality issues related to existing partners/vendors</li>
</ul>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>Revenue Tracking &amp; Analysis:</strong></span></p>
<ul>
<li>When necessary, aid the Finance team in revenue and invoice reconciliation for direct IO campaigns</li>
<li>Help the team identify revenue risk around underdelivering campaigns and provide insights around minimizing that risk</li>
<li>Help the team provide budget reallocation suggestions</li>
<li>Provide competitive customer and market insights</li>
<li>Work with leadership to determine appropriate measures of success for partners</li>
<li>Implement regular reviews of partners to ensure all partnerships are optimized and providing value</li>
<li>Proactively create strategic recommendations to modify, replace or remove partners</li>
</ul>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>Cooperating with the QA Team:</strong></span></p>
<ul>
<li>Liaise with the QA team in escalating technical issues to Ad Engineering team and implementing new ad technology vendors where necessary</li>
<li>File new product or feature requests</li>
<li>Ensure that&nbsp; site-wide changes that impact direct IO that have been communicated by the QA team and/or Ad Engineering are understood by the team and implemented</li>
<li>Help teams solve ad quality issues related to existing partners</li>
<li>Review new products requested by client and provide feedback about their viability and alignment with company strategy</li>
</ul>
<h1><strong>You Have…</strong></h1>
<ul>
<li>4+ years of industry experience in a digital or performance marketing role (ideally ad operations)</li>
<li>2+ years of management experience&nbsp;</li>
<li>Confidence in supporting team members in their areas of expertise</li>
<li>Proactiveness in identifying knowledge gaps in the team and looking for solutions</li>
<li>Drive to motivate and mentor the team, as well as help your direct reports grow their career</li>
<li>Track record of identifying optimization opportunities in processes</li>
<li>Expert understanding of campaign KPIs and how to report on and optimize them</li>
<li>Proactiveness in identifying under-delivery risk, reasons for it and providing suggestions for resolving the issue</li>
<li>Great client service - both internal and external</li>
<li>Ability to prioritize and delegate tasks, enforcing timeliness of task delivery, as well as fair workload</li>
<li>Proficient knowledge of English</li>
<li>High attention to detail</li>
<li>Strong communication skills - ability to convey messages in a concise and efficient manner</li>
