Fatshark seeks a Senior Gameplay Programmer to join their team working on an unannounced project.  Responsibilities include designing and developing NPC/enemy behaviors and game system mechanics, solving challenging problems independently and collaboratively, maintaining game performance and stability, providing estimates and prioritization support, and knowledge sharing. The role requires strong C++ and Unreal Engine skills, AI architecture experience (HTN, GOAP, behavior trees, pathfinding), and a passion for game development.

We are most well-known for developing the Warhammer: Vermintide franchise, but have also helped develop a number of AAA titles and we launched the highly anticipated game Warhammer 40,000: Darktide.</p><p>We have grown quite a bit over the last few years and are almost two-hundred “Sharks” now, but we still embrace the same values that we started with. It all adds up to an approachable, fun, passion-driven yet communal environment for us to work in.</p><h3><strong>The role</strong></h3><p>We are looking for an <strong>Senior&nbsp;Gameplay Programmer</strong> to join our newest game team working on an unannounced project. The role requires working independently as well as in a team. <li>Design and develop NPC/enemy behaviors and game systems mechanics</li>
<li>Solve challenging problems both on your own and as a part of the team</li>
<li>Maintain game performance and stability</li>

</ul><h3><strong>Required qualifications</strong></h3><ul>
<li>5+ years of professional working experience in game development</li>
<li>Experience in C++ game development with Unreal Engine</li>
<li>Experience with AI architectures and techniques like Hierarchical Task Network (HTN), GOAP (Goal-Oriented Action Planning), behavior trees, and pathfinding</li>
<li>Education in programming, or the experience to make up for that</li>
<li>You have a great passion for playing and making games</li>
<li>Organized: you have extensive experience in working with complex processes to facilitate organization and improve project structures</li>
<li>A team player: you are flexible and adaptive, have a positive attitude and have the ability to collaborate, lead and inspire</li>
<li>Great feel for gameplay &amp; game mechanics</li>
</ul><h3><strong>Bonus qualifications</strong></h3><ul>
<li>Experience working with C# or Lua or other programming languages within game development</li>
<li>Shipped at least 1 AAA or equivalent game</li>
<li>Released your own games as a side project</li>
<li>Experience from other parts of games development<br>

<li>Experience working with animation within Unreal Engine</li>
