Playgig seeks a Game Data Engineer to design & develop scalable data systems, transform raw data into actionable insights, and work with analysts, designers, & engineers to optimize game experiences. Must-haves: strong SQL, data engineering, business intelligence, and experience with data reporting tools.

Playgig is a game studio founded in early 2021 by industry veterans and backed by leading venture capital investors. This is an opportunity to join a high growth, early stage startup, help shape the game, and the studio as a whole.&nbsp;As a Game Data Engineer, you will design and develop data systems that scale with our games. You will learn the nuance of the data from various systems and transform that raw data into actionable insights.&nbsp; You will work daily with analysts, game designers, and game engineers to understand how we can build experiences that our players want.&nbsp; You will develop and implement KPI dashboards to provide strategic and operational support for the entire business.What You’ll Do<ul style="min-height:1.5em"><li>Working with product owners and tech leads, to implement high-quality, production-grade data pipelines;</li><li>Partner with our analytics teams to build tools that provide actionable insights into key business metrics and optimized solutions for their data needs;</li><li>Gather requirements and translate them into clean code and data warehouse design;</li><li>Collaborates with analytics and business teams to improve data models that feed business intelligence tools, increasing data accessibility and fostering data-driven decision-making across the organization;</li><li>Implements processes and systems to monitor data quality, ensuring production data is always accurate and available for key stakeholders and business processes that depend on it;</li><li>Works closely with all business units and engineering teams to develop strategy for long-term data platform architecture;</li><li>Designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable and efficient data pipelines, ensuring data quality, and optimizing data processing performance;</li><li>Strengthening our Data stack to bear the load of our ever-expanding, data-driven business;</li><li>Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including Data Analysts/Scientists, Game Designers, Product Managers and Marketers, to define data requirements and deliver data-driven insights that influence user acquisition, game design, user experience and ad monetization;</li><li>Identifying, analyzing, and resolving data-related issues to improve data reliability and maintain data integrity.</li></ul>What We Expect From You<ul style="min-height:1.5em"><li>Strong background in SQL, Data Engineering and Business Intelligence;</li><li>Experience with data reporting tools (e.g., Tableau), data cataloging tools (e.g., Alation) and data logging/monitoring tools (e.g., Datadog);</li><li>Experience with or knowledge of Agile Software Development methodologies;</li><li>Experience designing, building, and maintaining data processing systems;</li><li>Experience building complex and robust data architectures handling large amounts of data;</li><li>Ability to understand business needs across multiple teams and execute to achieve their targets;</li><li>Familiarity with cloud-based data storage and processing platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Azure).</li></ul>About PlaygigWe’re a team of experienced game developers creating unique, captivating worlds in which people can immerse themselves, and play long lasting games with their friends.
