The Intel Foundry Automation (IFA) organization is seeking a highly motivated Software Engineer for its Advanced Process Control (APC) and Fault Detection n Classification (FDC) group. This role involves developing and supporting mission-critical software for semiconductor manufacturing globally. Responsibilities include gathering requirements, designing, developing, testing, and debugging full-stack applications using modern methodologies, secure coding, and automated deployment. The engineer will interact with stakeholders to define system requirements with agility and manage ambiguity.
Must have:
  • Design, develop, test, and debug mission-critical software applications.
  • Work with customers to collect requirements.
  • Use modern software development methodologies and programming languages (C#, Python).
  • Follow secure coding practices and software legal compliance guidelines.
  • Analyze user stories, write functional and test code.
  • Automate build and deployment, perform unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.
  • Interact with end users and stakeholders in defining and updating system requirements.
  • Possess 3+ years of experience in software design, development, troubleshooting, and debugging.
  • Experience with Git/Azure DevOps and Workflows.
  • Experience with Framework Development.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft development tools (Visual Studio, .NET), Microsoft or Linux operating systems, Oracle or Microsoft database technologies.
Good to have:
  • Experience using Matlab, PowerShell.
  • Understanding of Process Control concepts and Model-based run-to-run control.
  • Experience with Machine Learning and AI models.
  • Experience with Factory Automation, including development and support of mission-critical systems.
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Semiconductor processing knowledge.
  • Experience in production-quality software development.
  • Experience as an independent researcher in research projects across industry or academia.

  • The Intel Foundry Automation (IFA) organization is looking for a highly motivated Software Engineer to join its Advanced Process Control (APC) and Fault Detection n Classification (FDC) group.
  • This group develops and supports mission critical software applications essential for semiconductor manufacturing.
  • These applications are used throughout Intel's network of semiconductor fabrication facilities around the world.
  • As a member of this team, you will work with customers to collect requirements, design, develop, test, and debug software applications used by end users or integrated with other automation systems.
  • Development may span the full application stack including both frontend and backend application development. You will use modern software development methodologies and programming languages, follow secure coding practices and software legal compliance guidelines, analyze user stories, write both functional and test code, automate build and deployment, and perform unit integration and end-to-end testing of applications.

  • In this role, we expect you to play a key role interacting with end users and stakeholders in defining and updating system requirements with agility and great tolerance to ambiguity. Qualifications:

Minimum qualifications are required to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related discipline.

3+ or more years of experience in:

  • Software design and development, troubleshooting and debugging skills
  • Programming using at least of the following: C#, Python
  • Git/Azure DevOps and Workflows
  • Framework Development
  • Microsoft development tools (Visual Studio, .NET), Microsoft or Linux operating systems, Oracle or Microsoft database technologies
  • ### Preferred Qualifications:
