Job Description

The Analytics Engineering team acts as a bridge between business needs and the data platform, focusing on data modeling, governance, and performance. They ensure data availability, share best practices, and create tools for efficient and secure data consumption. The Analytics Engineering Manager will lead data projects, design solutions, optimize ETL/ELT processes, and mentor team members, contributing to data literacy within Nubank.
Must Have:
  • Lead data projects with high autonomy from requirements mapping to database modeling and data provisioning.
  • Propose pipelines for data ingestion, sometimes from scratch.
  • Design necessary data solutions, supporting the team in documentation, maintenance, monitoring, and optimization of data codes and tools.
  • Identify opportunities for improvements and scalability in the ETL/ELT platform.
  • Translate business needs into solutions and products aligned with data platform tools and strategies.
  • Negotiate with stakeholders a high-impact data strategy, always aligned with Nubank's data governance.
  • Mentor team members and promote data literacy within Nubank.
  • At least 5 years of experience in data engineering, in complex and/or large-scale environments using big data.
  • Ability to write optimized SQL queries for highly complex problems and perform data modeling.
  • Knowledge of software engineering best practices (e.g., documentation, automated tests, clean code).
  • Experience in implementing and maintaining data pipelines from scratch.
  • Strong programming experience with general-purpose languages (e.g., Python, R, Scala).
  • Good communication skills to interact with technical and business stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of different database architecture and modeling techniques for analytical purposes (e.g., Data Mart, Data Lake, Data Warehouse).
  • Ability to abstract business concepts into quantitative metrics (e.g., KPIs, OKRs).
  • Advanced English (B2+ level according to CEFR).

You will be responsible for

  • Leading data projects with great autonomy from mapping requirements in the business context, to database modeling and data provisioning;
  • Proposing pipelines to perform data ingestion, sometimes from scratch;
  • Designing the necessary data solutions, supporting the team in documenting, maintaining, monitoring, and optimizing our data codes and tools;

We are looking for someone who

  • Has at least 5 years of experience in data engineering - environments with complexity and/or scale and big data utilization;
  • Is capable of writing SQL queries to solve highly complex problems in an optimized way and perform data modeling;
  • Is passionate about data;
  • Has notions of good software engineering practices (e.g., Documentation, automated tests, clean code, etc.);
  • Has experience in implementing and maintaining data pipelines from scratch;
  • Has strong programming experience with general-purpose languages (e.g., Python, R, Scala, etc.);
  • Has good communication skills to deal with stakeholders from technical and business areas;
  • Has knowledge of different database architecture and modeling techniques for analytical purposes (e.g., Data Mart, Data Lake, Data Warehouse, etc.);
  • Has the ability to abstract business concepts into quantitative metrics (e.g., KPIs, OKRs, etc.);
  • Has good communication skills to deal with stakeholders from technical and business areas;
  • Has Advanced English (B2+ level according to CEFR).

Our Nu Way of Working model
