Job Description

The Application Engineer II supports PowerArtist and related systems, collaborating with experts to achieve customer support objectives. Key duties include developing product competence, answering tool functionality questions, triaging product defects for R&D, and writing enhancement requests. The role involves assisting with evaluations, benchmarks, or demos under mentorship, and building team trust.
Must have:
  • BS with 2 years of experience or MS in Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
  • Experience with EDA, semiconductors design and methodologies
  • Support PowerArtist and related systems
  • Collaborate with team on customer support objectives
  • Develop competence in one or more products
  • Answer questions on tools functionality
  • Triage complaints about product defects and root cause for R&D
  • Write clear description of product enhancement requests
Good to have:
  • Technical knowledge and experience with semiconductor and systems design specializing in digital, analog, Mixed-Signal and RF
  • Experience in a large-scale commercial software support
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Willingness to travel when needed
  • Ability to learn quickly and to collaborate with others in a geographically distributed team
  • Can be relied upon to complete work assignments well and on time

Summary / Role Purpose

The Application Engineer II contributes to the support of PowerArtist and supporting systems. In this role, the Application Engineer II will collaborate with a team of expert professionals to accomplish customer support objectives.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop competence in one or more products working independently
  • Customer support tasks be able to answer questions on tools functionality
  • Triage complaints about product defects and root cause for R&D
  • Write clear description of product enhancement requests
  • Work behind the scenes, be task-orientated and take direction from a mentor to assist with evaluations, benchmarks, or demos
  • Develop the trust and respect of team members

Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience

  • BS with 2 years of experience or MS in Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
  • Experience with EDA, semiconductors design and methodologies

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

  • Technical knowledge and experience with semiconductor and systems design specializing in digital, analog, Mixed-Signal and RF
