Job Description

The Assistant Manager, Systems and Network is responsible for the day-to-day management, optimization, and security of the organization's IT infrastructure. This includes overseeing network systems, servers, hardware, and related technologies. The role involves collaborating with the IT team, implementing and maintaining infrastructure solutions, providing technical support, and contributing to IT projects. Responsibilities include managing network infrastructure (routers, switches, firewalls), administering servers, configuring LAN/WAN networks, managing building IT needs, coordinating with building management, implementing security measures (firewalls, VPNs, antivirus), providing technical support, troubleshooting issues, overseeing system performance, managing backups and disaster recovery, maintaining documentation, and preparing reports. The position requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, effective communication, and the ability to handle multiple tasks.

Assistant Manager-Systems and Network will be responsible for the day-to-day management, optimization, and security of the organization's IT infrastructure. This includes overseeing network systems, servers, hardware, and related technologies to ensure their reliability and performance. The role will involve collaborating with the IT team to implement and maintain infrastructure solutions, provide technical support, and contribute to ongoing IT projects. The Assistant Manager will also play a key role in improving operational efficiency through strategic technology implementation and maintenance.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage, monitor, and maintain network infrastructure, including routers, switches, and firewalls, to ensure reliable connectivity.
  • Administer and troubleshoot servers, ensuring uptime and optimal performance for the organization’s critical systems.
  • Assist in configuring and managing local and wide-area networks (LAN/WAN) to support organizational needs.
  • Willing to take on the responsibility of managing the IT needs of the entire building, including overseeing network infrastructure, equipment, and security systems.
  • Coordinate with building management to ensure seamless integration of IT solutions with building operations (e.g., building automation systems, access control systems).
  • Ensure that the building’s IT environment meets the technological needs of all occupants or tenants, providing timely support and solutions.
  • Assist in the implementation of security measures to safeguard the company’s network and systems from cyber threats.
  • Maintain firewalls, VPNs, antivirus software, and other security protocols to protect against unauthorized access and data breaches.
  • Perform regular security audits, vulnerability assessments, and updates to security policies to maintain data integrity.
  • Provide technical support to employees and stakeholders for hardware and software-related issues.
  • Troubleshoot network, system, and server-related problems, ensuring minimal downtime and efficient resolution of issues.
  • Assist in configuring IT hardware, including desktops, laptops, and other peripherals.
  • Oversee system performance and conduct routine maintenance to ensure stability and efficiency.
  • Assist in deploying software, updates, and patches across the network to ensure compliance and security.
  • Manage backups and disaster recovery solutions, ensuring critical data is protected and recoverable in case of system failures.
  • Maintain accurate documentation for all network configurations, system setups, and IT assets.
  • Assist in preparing reports on IT project progress, incident resolution, and any security concerns.
  • Assist in evaluating IT vendors and service providers, ensuring they meet the company’s technical and business needs.
Skills & Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
  • 5-8 years of experience in network and systems administration or similar IT roles.
  • Previous experience with network troubleshooting, systems management, and server administration.
  • Experience working with firewalls, VPNs, and other network security tools is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in managing and troubleshooting networks (LAN/WAN), server infrastructure (Windows, Linux), and network devices (routers, switches, firewalls).
  • Knowledge of IT monitoring and reporting tools.
  • Understanding of scripting or automation tools is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work well with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks while adhering to deadlines.
  • Proactive approach to identifying and solving problems.
