Job Description

Marvell Optics group is seeking an electrical engineering intern in Singapore to work on the development of very high-speed optical transceiver modules for data-center interconnects, cloud computing, and artificial intelligence hardware. The intern will be part of the Optics team, responsible for validation and characterization of optical transceivers and sub-components like photonic ICs, assisting in setting up automated test stations, developing calibration algorithms, and analyzing data for device performance and manufacturing optimization.
Good To Have:
  • Exposure to Matlab and ADS.
  • Team player with good communication skills.
  • Enjoys hands-on lab work using test and measurement equipment (OSA, DCA, VNA, Oscilloscope).
Must Have:
  • Currently pursuing a Master's degree or PhD in Communications Engineering, Electrical and Optical Engineering, or related technical field(s).
  • Strong fundamentals in optical components and communication equipment testing.
  • Strong fundamentals in communication theories (modulations, noise, SNR, digital signal processing, equalization techniques, Q-factor, BER).
  • Strong fundamentals in very high-speed serial links design and testing.
  • Proficiency in programming (Python, C).
  • Strong fundamentals in Silicon Photonics.
  • Strong fundamentals in analog and mixed-signal circuit design (operational amplifiers, power supply design, analog to digital and digital to analog converters, serial communication, PLL).

Marvell Optics group is looking for an electrical engineering intern in Singapore office. The qualified candidate will work with a team of energetic, very experienced and multi-disciplined engineers working on the development of very high-speed optical transceiver modules for data-center interconnects, cloud computing and artificial intelligence hardware. The successful candidate will be part of the Optics team responsible for validation and characterization of optical transceivers products and sub-components such as photonic ICs.

What You Can Expect

  • Student intern may be assigned to projects related to the bring-up, calibration and characterization of electro-optic transceivers for fiber optic communications.
  • Detail responsibilities can be:
  • Assist in setting up automated test stations for high-speed photonic devices.
  • Develop and implement calibration algorithms for integrated photonic communication ICs within multi-channel transceiver modules operating at high data rates.
  • Collect and analyze data to evaluate device performance, estimate manufacturing yield, and optimize production test coverage and test time.
  • Very high-speed serial communication links performance testing and sub-component optimization

What We're Looking For

  • The candidate MUST be currently pursuing a Master degree or PhD in Communications Engineering, Electrical and Optical Engineering or related technical field(s)
  • Strong fundamentals in at least 2 to 3 of the following area:
  • Optical components (lasers, optical amplifiers, TOSA / ROSA..) and communication equipment testing
  • Communication Theories – modulations, noise, SNR, digital signal processing, equalization techniques, Q-factor, BER
  • Very high speed serial links design and testing
  • Programming: Python, C, etc. (Exposures to Matlab and ADS is desirable)
  • Silicon Photonics
  • Analog and Mixed signal circuit design (operational amplifiers, power supply design, analog to digital and digital to analog converters, serial communication, PLL)
  • Team player with good communication skills.
  • Enjoys hands on lab work using test and measurement equipment (OSA, DCA, VNA, Oscilloscope..)
