Job Description

As an Assistant Relationship Director, you will be a key player in the Development Finance team, collaborating with experienced professionals to create innovative lending solutions. You will develop valuable industry connections and expertise while supporting a team of Relationship Directors. Your role will involve sourcing, assessing, underwriting, and completing property development loans, as well as working with the Portfolio Management team to oversee client portfolios. Responsibilities include assisting senior directors with new business inquiries, preparing initial assessments and Heads of Terms, producing credit proposals, attending client/broker meetings, reviewing valuation and monitoring surveyor reports, and ensuring data accuracy in the bank's operating systems.
Must have:
  • Strong understanding of UK property development finance market
  • Experience in a similar function
  • Proven experience writing credit papers
  • Ability to analyze complex financial information
  • Assess development risks
  • Commercial acumen with focus on responsible lending
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently and in a team

Job Description

As an Assistant Relationship Director, you'll play a pivotal role in our Development Finance team, working alongside seasoned professionals to structure innovative lending solutions while building valuable industry connections and expertise. The Assistant Relationship Director will support a team of Relationship Directors to source, assess, underwrite and take to completion property development loans, whilst working with the Portfolio Management team to oversee the management of a portfolio of clients.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting Senior Relationship Directors and Relationship Directors in handling new business enquiries and undertaking an initial assessment and issuing, where applicable, Heads of Terms
  • Supporting Senior Relationship Directors and Relationship Directors in the production of credit proposals
  • Attending client/broker meetings on site when required
  • Overviewing valuation and monitoring surveyor reports; making appropriate recommendations to the Banks Credit function
  • Working collaboratively with the Loan Support Team to progress approved facilities through to legal completion
  • Ensure accuracy of data within the Banks operating systems and ensuring all documentation is correctly produced and issued

Qualifications

  • Able to demonstrate a strong understanding of the UK property development finance market with experience of working in a similar function.
  • Proven experience of writing credit papers.
  • Ability to analyse complex financial information and assess development risks
  • Able to demonstrate commercial acumen with a focus on responsible lending practices
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
