As part of the Delivery Services team, the Associate Data Science Consultant plays a key role in implementing Blue Yonder’s supply chain planning solutions across the Americas. This role focuses on leveraging data to optimize forecasting, store fulfillment, and decision support using platforms like Luminate Demand Edge and other AI-enabled products. Responsibilities include delivering analytical services, performing exploratory data analysis, translating findings into business insights, and building and configuring machine learning models tailored to customer needs, contributing to measurable outcomes.
Must have:
  • Graduate degree in Operations Research, Statistics, or a related quantitative discipline (or bachelor’s with 1-2 years AI/ML experience)
  • Programming experience in Python for data analytics, visualization, and ML model development
  • Proficiency in SQL for data extraction, manipulation, and reporting
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to elicit and understand customer goals, concerns, and strategic priorities
  • Strong communication skills
  • Solid understanding of data engineering and data science concepts
  • Practical experience with exploratory data analysis, model configuration, and evaluation
Good to have:
  • Interest in building a narrative or storyline using data insights

Role Overview

As part of the Delivery Services team, the Associate Data Science Consultant plays a key role in implementing Blue Yonder’s supply chain planning solutions across the Americas. The role focuses on using data to optimize forecasting, store fulfillment, and decision support through platforms such as Luminate Demand Edge and other AI-enabled products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver analytical services as part of an agile team during customer implementations and post-go-live optimization phases
  • Perform exploratory data analysis to identify patterns, trends, and anomalies
  • Translate analytical findings into business insights and present them effectively to clients
  • Build, configure, and train machine learning models tailored to customer needs
  • Conduct what-if simulations and scenario analysis to evaluate alternative strategies
  • Contribute to solution configuration by aligning technical outputs with customer objectives
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams and support consultants in delivering measurable outcomes
  • Participate in customer-facing presentations alongside more senior team members

Technical Environment

  • Tools & Platforms: Python, SQL, Azure, Exasol
  • Tech Competencies: Data analysis, data visualization, machine learning algorithms, model training and validation

What We Are Looking For

  • Graduate degree in Operations Research, Statistics, or a related quantitative discipline is preferred; alternatively, a bachelor’s degree with 1–2 years of hands-on experience in AI/ML projects is acceptable
  • Demonstrated programming experience in Python for data analytics, visualization, and ML model development
  • Proficiency in SQL for data extraction, manipulation, and reporting
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex data into business recommendations
  • Ability to elicit and understand customer goals, concerns, and strategic priorities
  • Strong communication skills, with a willingness to present findings and collaborate with peers and clients

Skills and Expertise

  • Solid understanding of data engineering and data science concepts
  • Practical experience with exploratory data analysis, model configuration, and evaluation
  • Proficiency in common Python libraries such as pandas, numpy, scikit-learn, matplotlib, seaborn
  • Interest in building a narrative or storyline using data insights
  • Academic background in statistics, AI, ML, or related fields
