EA Create Audio is seeking an enthusiastic Audio Artist III for a 12-month temporary position to contribute to Apex Legends. This role involves driving audio design and implementation for features, creating immersive soundscapes including Legend abilities, weapons, ambiences, and foley. The artist will edit and implement assets using Miles and Source, troubleshoot bugs, and collaborate with various teams to elevate game audio quality within the Apex universe.

  • Familiarity with modern audio equipment and DAWs.
  • Experience with Wwise, FMOD, Perforce, Unity, and Unreal game engines.
  • Solid knowledge of PC hardware and software.

You will work within the Create Audio team and with all other aspects of game development to push the quality bar for game audio. Our new team member will be passionate about the Apex universe and contributing in all areas of audio design and implementation, with a talent for creating immersive worlds and competitive gaming feedback. Responsibilities:

  • Drive the design and implementation approach for owned features or content, and work with Audio Director, Design, Animation, VFX and to ensure that audio matches the vision of the game.
  • Design and implement audio that fits within the Apex universe to immerse the player into the game’s world (including Legend abilities, weapons, ambiences, and foley).
  • Edit and implement audio assets directly in our audio tools and game engine (Miles and Source).
  • Follow a schedule and submit final audio files on or before required deadlines.
  • Troubleshoot and help fix audio bugs.
  • Partner as needed with the Speech team to track recordings and contribute to speech editing, naming, and file organization.
  • Maintain effective communication and collaboration with team members and external partners
  • Contribute to strengthening the audio community across multiple studios within EA.

Qualifications:

  • Four years game audio and/or post-production experience.
  • Experience with audio design from scratch, field and foley recording, processing and editing, speech/VO design.
  • Comfortable with modern audio equipment, strong knowledge in at least one DAW (Reaper recommended).
  • Proficient in using game development tools, technology and pipelines (Wwise, FMOD, Perforce).
  • Experience with Perforce and game engines (Unity, Unreal); scripting experience preferred.
  • Solid knowledge of PC hardware and software.
  • Strong artistic and creative sensibilities.
  • Self-motivated, with a solution-oriented attitude and a positive communicator who excels as part of a team.
  • Good technical thinker.
