Must have:
  • Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field.
  • Must graduate on or after May 2027.
  • Must be a US Citizen, permanent resident or be an MS student with work authorization (F1 Visa on CPT accepted only for masters-level students).
  • Develop audio data analysis and visualization methods.
  • Automate Audio Lab testing and Data Acquisition.
  • Prototype new audio algorithms or designs from concept to initial working model.
  • Develop machine learning techniques for audio processing and data analysis.
Good to have:
  • Matlab programming skills.
  • Python programming skills.
  • DSP programming skills.
  • Audio Laboratory experience.
  • Experience with Machine Learning approaches to audio processing.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Audition and/or Audacity audio file editing tools.
  • Ability to work well with other engineers.
  • Positive, open-minded, embraces challenges and can contribute to innovative approaches.
  • Graduate student preferred.

Department Overview

Global Audio Solutions. This intern student will help develop portable devices with Public Safety Mission-Critical Audio. These devices involve extreme noise suppression, high dynamic range mics, mic array technologies, advanced DSP audio algorithms, and proprietary design micro loudspeakers – all carefully integrated to create a lifeline for firefighters, soldiers & law enforcement officers; it must work, always! Mission-critical audio begins where consumer audio leaves off.

Job Description

Motorola Solutions' Florida team is searching for an Engineering intern student to join an advanced technology and product design team that is focused on wireless speech communications under a wide range of conditions, for demanding customers.

The position is a hybrid internship role starting May 2026.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Development of audio data analysis and visualization methods
  • Automation of Audio Lab testing and Data Acquisition
  • Concept prototyping: Take a new audio algorithm or design from concept to initial working model, to assess technical performance and strength of perception
  • Develop machine learning techniques for audio processing and data analysis

Desired Skills and Abilities:

  • Matlab and/or Python programming
  • DSP programming
  • Audio Laboratory experience
  • Machine Learning approaches to audio processing
  • Adobe Audition, and/or Audacity audio file editing tools
  • Works well with other engineers
  • Must be positive, open-minded, embraces challenges and can contribute to innovative approaches
  • Graduate student preferred, but Bachelors student will be consider if they can demonstrate relevant project or work experience in the field of Audio Engineering.​
