Directs comprehensive product strategy from conception to end-of-life, functioning as a central resource across various departments. Formulates and executes long-term product roadmaps, promotes new technologies, and leads cross-functional teams. Drives portfolio launch strategies, identifies technical marketing opportunities, and delivers presentations to customers. Establishes long-term innovation and IP strategies, ensuring alignment with customer needs and product roadmaps. Facilitates cross-functional collaboration to meet customer expectations and deadlines, translating needs into successful product portfolios.
Must have:

  • Function as a central resource with design, process, engineering, technology, manufacturing, quality, test, marketing, and distribution.
  • Formulate and execute long-term product roadmaps to meet customer needs with cost/profit control.
  • Promote use of new technologies and industry-leading trends.
  • Direct cross-functional teams involved in the design, modification, and evaluation of all phases of a specific product or group of products.
  • Review identified gaps in market based on complex analyses of overall ecosystem demands and make portfolio decisions.
  • Drive portfolio launch strategies and identify technical marketing opportunities.
  • Review, prepare, and deliver technical presentations regarding product roadmaps, RFPs, and/or proposals.
  • Integrate customer feedback into project roadmaps.
  • Serve as the authority in the creation of a differentiated roadmap for a product portfolio.
  • Facilitate decision making between cross-functional leaders and achieve buy-in from internal and external stakeholders.
  • Establish long-term portfolio innovation strategy, product roadmaps, and IP strategies.
  • Drive communication plan and communicate appropriately with internal and external customers, third-party vendors, and senior management.
  • Drive effective cross-functional collaboration by ensuring that Engineering and other internal partners meet customer expectations, promised deadlines, and align with overall roadmap.
  • Translate customer needs, product roadmaps, and organizational strategy into successful product portfolios.
  • Experience with engineering management (software development team management).
  • Experience with automotive Infotainment, connected car software (connectivity/telematics), ADAS and/or Automotive embedded systems.
  • Expertise in vehicle networking protocols, automotive protocols, functional safety, middleware.
  • Experience in designing and developing advanced software architectures (BSP, RTOS, OS (QNX / Embedded Linux), Middleware, ADAS/AD apps, C programming, Build systems, compiler, linker).
  • Master's Degree and seven (7) years of experience in a related occupation OR Bachelor's Degree and nine (9) years of progressive experience in a related occupation.

General Summary:

Drives portfolio launch strategies and identifies technical marketing opportunities such as conferences, congresses, and direct customer contact and ensures successful product launch. Reviews, prepares, and delivers technical presentations regarding product roadmaps, RFPs, and/or proposals to demonstrate and market product portfolios to customers and/or prospective customers, and integrates customer feedback into project roadmaps. Serves as the authority in the creation of a differentiated roadmap for a product portfolio, facilitates decision making between cross-functional leaders, and achieves buy-in from internal and external stakeholders. Establishes long-term portfolio innovation strategy, product roadmaps, and IP strategies while identifying gaps and maintaining the best interest of customers and alignment to the product roadmap. Drive and improve efficiency of technical/engineering teams based on experience with engineering management ( software development team management), automotive Infotainment , connected car software (connectivity/telematics), ADAS and/or Automotive embedded systems. Set organization wide technology direction based on expertise in one or more areas like vehicle networking protocols, automotive protocols, functional safety, middleware. Design and develop advanced software architectures based on experience in one or more of the following areas - BSP, RTOS,OS (QNX / Embedded Linux), Middleware, ADAS/AD apps, C programming, Build systems (including compiler / linker etc) for Automotive systems.

*Telecommuting may be permitted. When not telecommuting, must report to Qualcomm’s office location(s) in San Diego, CA.* Domestic and international travel required up to 5%*

Will accept a Master's Degree (or foreign academic equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems or related degree field and seven (7) years of experience in a related occupation. Will also accept a Bachelor's Degree (or foreign academic equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems or related degree field and nine (9) years of progressive experience in a related occupation. Employer will accept any suitable combination of education, training or experience.

Pay Range: $227,700.00 - $341,500.00/year
