The Role:

We have an exciting new opening for a Brand Marketing Director in the Brand Team at Moonbug for our global live-action preschool brand, Blippi. This is a maternity cover for a period of 7 months while our current Director goes on maternity leave.

The Brand Marketing Director will be responsible for shepherding the ongoing brand identity, driving affinity and growth of the Blippi brand globally, and leading the annual marketing plans from conception to execution. Results will be measured in positive growth in brand heath metrics, audience, and revenue. 

Further, the Brand Marketing Director will work with our research and insights partners to lead audience insights, set the direction for optimal exposure through existing marketing and distribution channels, work with our many brand partners to build a holistic brand experience across partner and Moonbug channels as well as create and implement marketing plans and analyze the impact of our efforts.

This role is a great opportunity for someone with a business, marketing or similar degree and previous experience in a brand marketing role, ideally within an entertainment and/or kids-focused business, to work in one of the most exciting kids’ entertainment companies.

The ideal candidate has a passion for the digital media landscape and understands the intricacies and unique attributes of every step in the marketing funnel – ideally with prior experience with entertainment and/or family marketing is a must. Also critical to the role is a deep understanding of how marketing can drive commercial success while ensuring the long-term health of the brand.

The successful candidate must be autonomous and self-organized, while creative and self-motivated; have strong attention to detail and great communication skills. The candidate must also be proactive, and process-driven, meet committed deadlines and be great at working collaboratively in a fast-paced, international environment.

You will be working collaboratively across a large, international cross-functional team including consumer products, YouTube, brand partnerships, music, retail, distribution, content, creative and comms as well as external partners and agencies to deliver world-class experiences for our audience.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Blippi’s General Manager (GM) & IP leadership team to set marketing strategy and annual plans for the brand globally.
  • Work closely with GM & Marketing Team to define the vision for the brand. Be the steward to protect the brand vision, mission and values while ensuring all marketing efforts align with brands’ commercial needs.
  • Be the expert on the brands’ target audience and consumer, and lead consumer insights plans, as needed
  • Develop and implement strategies to drive affinity for our brands, drive consumption of our content, engagement on social media platforms and drive conversion on our various retail partner platforms.
  • Establish relevant KPIs for marketing plans. Track department performance against KPIs to identify opportunities to improve department performance, increase brand scale, and enhance the efficiency of marketing spend.
  • Be the connective tissue for the franchise, bringing cross-functional teams together to drive initiatives and marketing activations towards singular objectives based on franchise goals set in partnership with GM 
  • Oversee creation and approve brand assets including trailers, sales materials, style guides and other marketing materials. Ensure these deliver on the brand guidelines and promise.
  • Oversee process and execution of talent photoshoots for annual toolkits, brand partnerships, coordinate on-set content capture, PR clips, as needed. 
  • Work closely with the Production team to coordinate talent availability, production calendar, and content delivery across all brand initiatives with a marketing component.
  • Support licensing and distribution partners to develop and execute strategies across their business units and channels integrating with our marketing channel infrastructure.
  • Oversee brand marketing team collaborations with internal cross-functional teams like content, brand partnerships, music, gaming and legal for campaign approvals and coordination.
  • Develop robust test & learn plan to improve performance and marketing spend efficiencies across channels, based on data & analytical insights. Share learnings and performance with internal stakeholders.
  • Work with the Marketing & Social team to set context on overall brand priorities, and franchise strategy, and lead always-on, campaign and strategy development across all owned and operated brand channels and partner channels. 
  • Responsible for allocating, tracking and managing Brand Marketing budget on a monthly basis
  • Drive innovation with partners to get them excited to promote our fun and enriching shows and characters.

Requirements

  • You have 10+ years’ experience in a marketing role or entertainment creative/strategy role with a strong focus on digital marketing 
  • Experience with family entertainment a benefit
  • Bachelor’s degree required. Masters/MBA degree or equivalent experience preferred 
  • Analytical mindset with an understanding of acquisition funnel, performance marketing KPIs and profitability levers
  • Ability to triangulate information from multiple sources to uncover insights and develop strategies and recommendations
  • Excellent strategic planning skills with the ability to identify, prioritize, and articulate high-impact campaigns and initiatives
  • Strategic self-starter with the ability to navigate cross-functional teams and build relationships across multiple time zones.Must have a proven track record of successfully driving high-impact projects from start to finish
  • Brand Management and Creative Asset Oversight: Skills in protecting brand vision and overseeing the creation of marketing materials.
  • Strong presentation skills with the ability to effectively present ideas and concepts to internal/external stakeholders at all levels and manage conflicting opinions while still moving projects forward
  • A strong communicator (written and oral) with a can-do, positive attitude who is calm under pressure and can influence and achieve buy-in at all levels
  • Able to prioritize, multi-task and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Previous experience with live-action production and talent management a plus.
  • Hungry and curious - constantly bringing new insights, ideas and opportunities to the brand
  • Passion for brands that move fast and shape culture
  • Fluent English, is essential; other languages beneficial
  • Excellent Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Sense of humor and desire to have fun!

Monthly Rate: $12,500-$16,670
