La division Feature Animation de DNEG, qui s’est développée progressivement au cours des dernières années, est dédiée à donner vie aux visions créatives des grands studios hollywoodiens ainsi qu’aux productions indépendantes. Alors que nous aspirons à nous établir comme un acteur de premier plan dans l’industrie, le rôle des Character Technical Directors (TDs) est essentiel. Vous serez responsable de la conception des rigs d’animation pour les personnages, créatures, accessoires et véhicules, en étroite collaboration avec nos superviseurs du rigging ainsi que les leads/superviseurs de l’animation.
Compétences indispensables :
Expérience confirmée sur des projets majeurs impliquant des créatures/personnages.
Connaissance approfondie de votre domaine de spécialisation en rigging (ex. : corps, visage, rigs mécaniques).
Maîtrise complète de Maya.
À l’aise avec les aspects techniques liés au travail sur personnages/créatures.
Bonnes compétences visuelles et artistiques.
Bonne compréhension de l’anatomie humaine.
Bonnes compétences interpersonnelles, notamment pour encadrer des membres juniors.
Capacité à organiser les tâches, à communiquer avec les autres départements et à garantir la qualité des livrables.
Connaissance des problématiques liées aux pipelines et aux environnements de post-production centrés sur les personnages/créatures.
Maîtrise approfondie de Python (programmation orientée objet, etc.).
Bonne compréhension de l’algèbre linéaire et des mathématiques vectorielles.

DNEG's Feature Animation division, which has gradually expanded over the past few years, is dedicated to realizing the creative visions of major Hollywood studios and independent productions. If you share our passion for bringing these visions to life, we invite you to join our collaborative team.
As we strive to establish ourselves as leading competitors in the industry, the role of our Character Technical Directors (TDs) is pivotal. You will be responsible for designing animation rigs for characters, creatures, props, and vehicles in close collaboration with our Rigging Supervisors and Animation Leads/Supervisors.
Must Have
Needs to have proven years of experience with significant creature/character projects
Thorough knowledge of their area of character specialization (i.e., body, face, mechanical rigs)
Full working knowledge of Maya.
Comfortable with the technical aspects of character/creature work.
Strong visual and artistic skills as well
Good understanding of human anatomy
Have soft skills such as mentoring junior members
Organizing task assignments, communicating with other departments, and ensuring the quality of department output.
Familiarity with pipeline issues and a typical character/creature-heavy post-production environment.
Extensive Python knowledge (OOP etc.)
Linear Algebra and Vector Math
Nice to Have
Maya API knowledge
C++
QT or Pyside knowledge
