Job Description

We’re looking for a proactive, detail-oriented Commercial Assistant to join our National Operations Commercial team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about financial accuracy, supplier relationships, and continuous improvement. You’ll play a key role in supporting financial transactions and commercial processes across a diverse portfolio of suppliers and service partners. If you’re highly numerate, organised, and eager to grow your skills - especially in data analysis and reporting, this role is for you.
Must have:
  • Managing day-to-day financial transactions, including supplier payments and store recharges
  • Administering monthly ‘Application to Pay’ processes
  • Reconciling departmental accounts and providing monthly updates to senior stakeholders
  • Verifying supplier charges and ensuring rebates are received
  • Generating monthly store journals and maintaining financial records
  • Conducting audits and bi-annual reviews of service charges
  • Supporting commercial negotiations with analytical insights
  • Maintaining databases and financial trackers
  • Assisting with Capital Investment administration
  • Contributing to reporting and insights using tools like Excel and Python
Good to have:
  • Experience with Smartsheet is highly desirable
  • Familiarity with Python or a keen interest in developing automation and analytical tools

Qualifications

What You’ll Need:

  • Background in finance, accounting, or data analysis
  • Advanced Excel skills; experience with Smartsheet is highly desirable
  • Familiarity with Python or a keen interest in developing automation and analytical tools
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial transactions
  • Passion for process improvement and efficiency
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Clear and confident communicator with strong interpersonal skills
  • A proactive team player with a solutions-focused mindset
  • Comfortable working across multiple stakeholders and adapting to changing priorities
