This role, based at a supplier site, involves overseeing quality control, supplier quality engineering, and program schedule management for composite manufacturing. You will be the primary interface between Fictiv, the supplier, and the customer, ensuring quality compliance, managing milestones, and driving successful execution from raw material qualification to customer approval. The position reports to the Fictiv Quality Manager.
Must have:
  • Manage and track all key stages of the program, including pilot and batch production.
  • Qualify raw materials, verify tools, and qualify processes for trial production.
  • Complete First Article Inspection (FAI) and documentation for customer approval.
  • Review production readiness and monitor production batches for quality.
  • Identify and fix quality/schedule risks, taking recovery actions.
  • Oversee in-process and final inspection of composite parts at the supplier site.
  • Verify compliance with ply orientation, mass tolerance, porosity, plasma etching, and machining features.
  • Review inspection documentation, validate repair work, and ensure traceability.
  • Audit supplier processes for lay-up, curing, machining, and inspection readiness.
  • Support supplier in developing control plans and process controls.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for nonconformances.
  • Act as the on-site Fictiv representative, coordinating with customers during audits.
  • Track and report KPIs like OTIF, defect rates, FAI readiness, and corrective action closure.
  • Ensure compliance with composite-specific standards, material certifications, and process controls.
  • Possess knowledge of composite machining & finishing process (priming/painting etc).
  • 10+ years of experience in QC and SQE with composite experience.
  • Strong knowledge of composite end-to-end manufacturing processes.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work full-time at the supplier site and coordinate between supplier, Fictiv, and customer.
  • Strong problem-solving and risk management skills.
  • Flexible in timings to support extended hours for customer interaction (US time zone).

Impact In This Role

You will be responsible for overseeing quality control, supplier quality engineering, and program schedule management for composite manufacturing. This position will be based at the supplier site, where you will work closely with the supplier as the primary interface between Fictiv, the supplier, and the customer. Your focus will be on ensuring quality compliance, managing key program milestones, and driving successful execution from raw material qualification through to customer approval. This role will report directly to the Fictiv Quality Manager.

What You’ll Be Doing

Key Responsibilities

You will manage and track all key stages of the program:

Pilot Batch:

Work closely with Supplier in

  • Qualifying the raw material as per the requirement.
  • Verification of tools (including thermal cycling).
  • Qualifying the process as per the requirements and run trial part production.
  • Completing First Article Inspection (FAI) and documentation as per requirements.
  • Send for customer approval.

Batch Production:

  • Review production readiness with the supplier before starting batch production, ensuring they have the required capacity, resources, and process controls in place.
  • Start and monitor the first and later production batches.
  • Make sure every batch meets quality requirements before shipping.
  • Work closely with suppliers to identify the opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Identify and fix any risks related to quality or schedule early.
  • Take recovery actions to keep the program on track.
  • Share regular updates with Fictiv and the customer on program progress and any issues, and develop a governance model to ensure clear communication, escalation, and decision-making throughout the program
