Job Description:
Gamix Labs is seeking an experienced Senior 2D Concept Artist to join our creative team. The ideal candidate will have 2-7 years of professional experience in 2D art for game development and a proven track record of creating compelling visual concepts for characters, environments, and props. You will play a key role in shaping the artistic vision of our projects, working closely with the art director and other team members.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the art director and other departments to develop the visual style of the game.
Create detailed and high-quality 2D concept art for characters, environments, and props.
Develop and iterate on mood boards, color palettes, and visual references to establish the game's artistic direction.
Provide mentorship and guidance to junior artists, ensuring consistency and quality across all visual assets.
Participate in art reviews and provide constructive feedback to maintain a high standard of artistic quality.
Stay current with industry trends and incorporate new techniques and styles as needed.
Requirements:
2-7 years of professional experience as a 2D artist, specifically in the gaming industry.
A strong portfolio showcasing a range of concept art, including characters, environments, and props.
Proficiency in digital painting software such as Adobe Photoshop, Corel Painter, or similar.
Excellent understanding of color theory, lighting, anatomy, and composition.
Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Ability to take direction, iterate on feedback, and deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines.
Passion for gaming and a deep understanding of current industry trends.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in leading or mentoring a team of artists.
Understanding of the game development pipeline, including asset creation and integration.
Experience working with a variety of art styles, from realistic to stylized.
