Content Manager/Editor-in-Chief (32-36 hours/week)

What you will do

In this role, you will be responsible for the management and development of several subject areas within our extensive portfolio of MedNet titles for medical specialists and general practitioners. You will do this together with the external scientific advisory boards, a network of medical journalists and (text) editors, and of course with the internal team within Springer Health+. You will be responsible for the total editorial production and final editing of the offline and online newspapers. With the advisory boards, you will discuss developments in the subject areas and ideas for articles, which you will then assign. You will connect medical specialists with medical journalists. You will monitor planning, formats, and quality. And you will be an important link within the team: you know what is going on, adjust where necessary, and easily switch with colleagues and external partners.

Your tasks and responsibilities:

  • You are ultimately responsible for the production of 3 to 5 MedNet titles.
  • You collaborate substantively with the various scientific advisory boards (medical specialists and general practitioners) and the internal MedNet team of publishers, project managers, online manager, and medical consultant.
  • In addition, you advise the entire Springer team on developments in 'your' subject areas, for example, when these can lead to innovation or development of products that may be interesting for our clients (healthcare providers on the one hand and pharmaceutical companies on the other).

Why is this role interesting?

Impact: You have a direct influence on the information in the MedNet titles.

Innovation: You are given the space to propose and implement new ideas and improvements.

Collaboration: In this role, you work closely with experts in various fields and internally within an experienced team.

Who are you?

Ideally, you bring the following:

  • HBO or university degree.
  • At least a few years of (final) editorial experience, preferably in healthcare.
  • You have an eye for efficiency and quality, always focused on customer-oriented solutions and the latest developments in the fields you work in.
  • You are proactive, communicative, and customer-oriented.
  • You are interested in (hospital) healthcare. A medical or healthcare background is not required, but a plus.

We offer

In addition to a good (fixed) salary, we offer excellent secondary employment conditions, including a Personal Choice Budget, good training opportunities, and an informal company culture with many activities and room for initiative. We also actively collaborate on innovative projects. At Springer Health+, we work partly in a modern building in Utrecht and partly from home.
