Job Description

The Content & Social Lead will oversee the content team for a global CPG business, driving end-to-end content creation. The role focuses on ensuring creative excellence, brand consistency, and ROI, leading production with traditional and Gen AI approaches. This position represents Hogarth as the client's primary social-first content agency, reporting to the Content & Social Strategy Director.
Must have:

  • Proven experience in leading creative content teams or projects.
  • Demonstrable experience in the production of social and content assets.
  • Experience as a social media content creator.

  • Experience exploring and implementing new content creation technologies.
  • Proven success briefing, managing, and collaborating effectively with external agencies.
  • Comfort using analytics to measure content performance.
  • Strong understanding of the respective products, trends, ingredients, and industry terminology.
  • A demonstrable passion to build brand desire and drive purchase through conversion.
  • Implementing processes to review and approve agency-created content.
  • Mastery of grammar, tone, and crafting compelling copies.
  • Strong understanding of visual elements.
  • Ability to develop and execute data-driven content plans.
  • Experience leading, motivating, and providing clear direction to internal teams and external agencies.
  • Tracking content performance metrics.
  • Knowledge of how Gen AI tools work, their capabilities and limitations.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Working with a market-leading global CPG business, the Content & Social Lead is responsible for overseeing the content team that drives End-to-End content creation for the brands within your category remit. The focus of the role is to guarantee creative excellence, brand consistency and effectiveness (ROI), leading content production efforts via traditional and Gen AI driven approaches, and representing Hogarth as the client's leading social first content agency.

The role will report directly into Hogarth's Content & Social Strategy Director.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Contribute to the development and execution of a market-specific content strategy that aligns with your brands' global direction while resonating deeply with local cultural nuances and trends.
  • Be accountable for content effectiveness and production excellence for the brands social & content assets across consumer and shopper digital touchpoints
  • Act as the brands' expert on the local market, possessing an intimate understanding of the local market culture, communities, and social media platforms and trends.
  • Oversee the end-to-end content creation process, from ideation and planning (in conjunction with brand managers) through to production execution and optimisation, ensuring all content aligns with brand guidelines, BET strategy and assets – ensuring work resonates with the communities that our client engages with.
  • Support brand managers with creation of clear and insightful briefs that inform agency partners and the local creator ecosystem.
  • Ensure the brand’s digital content is culturally relevant, engaging and authentic content output.
  • Act as the hub between brand, social, and content pods, working closely with Community Specialists to analyse content performance metrics, derive actionable insights, and adapt the content strategy to optimise engagement, reach, and overall ROI.

WHAT YOU’VE BRING

  • Content Creation Leadership: Proven experience in leading creative content teams or projects, ideally in the respective category or a related industry.
  • Expertise in Production: Demonstrable experience in the production of social and content assets, with experience across integrated campaign work a bonus
  • Social Media Content Creation: Experience as a social media content creator is highly desirable with strong understanding for local culture and platform nuances and trends.
  • Proven Strategic & Creative Skills: A portfolio demonstrating strong content strategy development, execution, and a track record of creating engaging, on-brand content.
  • Tech-Forward Approach: Experience exploring and implementing new content creation technologies, with a willingness to embrace and experiment with AI tools.
  • Agency Management: Proven success briefing, managing, and collaborating effectively with external agencies, ensuring high-quality output and brand consistency.
  • Data-Driven Mindset: Comfort using analytics to measure content performance, derive insights, and make data-informed decisions to optimise content strategy.
  • Gen AI Application (desirable): Demonstrable experience using generative AI tools for content creation
  • Product Knowledge: Strong understanding of the respective products, trends, ingredients, and industry terminology for the respective brand(s).
  • Passion for Growth: A demonstrable passion to build brand desire and drive purchase through conversion, keeping up with trends, key players and insights and reflecting a genuine enthusiasm for the field.
  • Quality Control: Implementing processes to review and approve agency-created content, ensuring alignment with brand standards and messaging.

  • Visual Storytelling: Strong understanding of visual elements (photography, video, graphics) and how they contribute to brand storytelling.
  • Content Strategy: Ability to develop and execute data-driven content plans aligned with brand goals, target audience, and different platforms.
  • Team & Project Management: Experience leading, motivating, and providing clear direction to internal teams and external agencies, ensuring deadlines and quality
  • Performance Analysis: Tracking content performance metrics, deriving insights, and adapting strategies to optimise engagement and achieve objectives.

Inquisitive about Technology & AI Integration:

  • Generative AI Understanding: Knowledge of how Gen AI tools work, their capabilities and limitations in content creation (e.g., generating copy ideas, image prompts).
  • Tech-Savviness (preferred): Comfort exploring and evaluating new content creation tools and relevant platforms (AR/VR, interactive experiences, etc.).
  • Data-Driven Approach (preferred): Leveraging data and analytics to inform AI-powered content decisions, personalise experiences, and maximise impact.
  • Ethical Considerations (preferred): Awareness of potential biases and ethical implications of using AI in content creation, ensuring responsible and inclusive practices.
