Job Description

Facilitating compliance through accountability, building clients’ trust and safeguarding the firm’s data and reputation are at the heart of the Data Protection Office. This role drives continuous data protection improvements and promotes a positive data culture. The Manager will support the DPO team in developing guidance and monitoring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, contractual obligations, and internal policies. PwC helps clients build trust and reinvent, leveraging a global network of over 370,000 people across 149 countries in audit, tax, deals, and consulting.
Must have:
  • Assist with implementing global and developing local policies and guidance in data protection and privacy.
  • Conduct reviews to ensure privacy and data protection compliance and proactively address potential issues.
  • Investigate data incidents and privacy matters, provide advice, suggest remedial actions, and undertake reporting.
  • Review data protection controls in technology risk assessments for technology solutions adopted by the firm.
  • Support Legal and Risk Management processes around privacy and data protection issues, including contract negotiations.
  • Develop training material and deliver training on data protection and privacy.
  • Assist with periodic internal and external reporting.
  • Lead ad-hoc projects.
  • At least 5+ years of working experience in a risk-related role.
  • At least 2+ years of experience in data privacy, data protection, and/or data governance.
  • Be a team player who is well-spoken, resourceful, confident, mature, and an effective communicator.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an eye for detail and accuracy.
  • Good project management skills.
  • Possess a high level of resilience and positive work attitude.
  • Willingness to learn and deliver timely and quality results to internal stakeholders.
  • Be able to guide and coach junior team members.

We are currently seeking a suitable candidate to join the team as a Manager to provide support to the DPO team in developing guidance and monitoring compliance with applicable laws and regulations, contractual obligations as well as internal policies and procedures.

Key responsibilities:

  • Assist with implementing global policies and developing local policies and guidance in the areas of data protection and privacy, with a view for efficiency through the use of technology
  • Conduct reviews to ensure privacy and data protection compliance and proactively address potential privacy and data protection issues
  • Investigate data incidents and privacy matters including providing the relevant advice and suggest remedial actions and undertake reporting to the relevant parties as needed
  • Review data protection controls in technology risk assessments for technology solutions adopted by the firm
  • Support Legal and Risk Management processes around privacy and data protection issues, including supporting contract negotiations
  • Develop training material and deliver training on data protection and privacy
  • Assist with periodic internal and external reporting
  • Lead ad-hoc projects

About you

  • At least 5+ years of working experience in a risk-related role, of which, at least 2+years of experience in data privacy, data protection and/or data governance
  • Be a team player who is well-spoken, resourceful, confident, mature and an effective communicator with personnel across all grade levels within the firm.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an eye for detail and accuracy
  • Good project management skills
  • Possess a high level of resilience and positive work attitude
  • Willingness to learn and deliver timely and quality results to internal stakeholders
  • Be able to guide and coach junior team members
