Company Description
Today, when you go to your doctor and get referred to a specialist (e.g., for sleep apnea), your doctor sends out a referral and tells you, “They’ll be in touch soon.” So you wait. And wait. Sometimes days, weeks, or even months. Why? Because too often specialists and medical services are overwhelmed with referrals and the painstakingly manual process it takes to qualify your referral prevents them from getting around to it on time, or sometimes at all. Tennr prevents these delays and denials by making sure every referral gets where it needs to go, with the right info, at the right time. Powered by RaeLM™ Tennr reads, extracts, and acts on every piece of patient information so providers can capture more referrals, slash denials, and reduce delays.
Role Description
We take “problem-obsessed” seriously enough that we make it the core of our marketing efforts, not just our product roadmap. Our content marketing and demand generation programs exist to solve real problems for our audiences, and we are sufficiently invested in them to spend real time and effort understanding how we can add genuine value. That means finding the correct problems to solve, putting in the work to offer the most useful content and experiences we can, and making it all available in the best shape and channel for our audiences’ preferences.
The Demand Gen Manager will join our marketing team to help uplevel and extend our value-creating efforts. Working across all audience segments and channels, they will identify and research topics and content opportunities, validate that research with customers and industry members, create the substance of the offering, and take each campaign from scrappy start to sparkling finish.
The core of our execution is currently written content, like blogs, resources, and guides, but we also run online and IRL events with industry partners and experts. The Demand Gen Manager will also own (or participate in) distribution, especially paid channels, email, and likely SEO. If appropriate, we’d like to expand our capabilities into more sophisticated experiences and tools—but this role will be the contributor that helps us understand where and how we can add value.
If you’re smart, good at research, a talented writer, audience-centric, and excited to learn more about the specific challenges our audiences across healthcare face, we’d love to see what you’re capable of.
Responsibilities
- Originate and execute on content marketing campaigns across whichever channels and formats you recommend.
- Develop a true affinity for the problems our specific audience members face, and share what you learn with the team as you go.
- Improve our industry-specific knowledge and expertise over time.
- Work with the Brand and Design teams to keep all campaign work in Tennr’s voice and vibe.
- Work with Growth Marketing to understand our market and distribution options tactically.
- Help us uncover and capitalize on new shapes and types of content—video, web experiences, downloadables, calculators, and even free products could all be on the table.
- Help improve our analytics and observability so that we can tie Demand Gen efforts to revenue where possible and appropriate.
Candidate qualifications
- 2–5 years’ experience in demand gen or content marketing, ideally in healthcare, B2B SaaS, or healthtech.
- A college degree, or an additional comparable amount of work experience on top of the bullet above, demonstrating that you can usefully combine research and creativity to achieve concrete objectives.
- Solid writing chops.
- Enthusiasm for doing the work, and a preference for quality over “productivity” or box-checking.
- Experience working with contributors from other disciplines.
- An allergy to AI slop. At Tennr, we don’t use ChatGPT for writing, and we respect our audience’s time enough not to waste it with creative work we didn’t consider worth taking the time to make ourselves.
- Startup experience a big plus.
- Willingness to work in-person four days a week in our (fun, friendly, active) Chelsea office, with the fifth day remote-optional.
Application materials
- Resume
- Optional cover letter, but only if it explains why you want this specific role.
- One writing sample, under 250 words, about something you find surprising.
