Company Description
Today, when you go to your doctor and get referred to a specialist (e.g., for sleep apnea), your doctor sends out a referral and tells you, “They’ll be in touch soon.” So you wait. And wait. Sometimes days, weeks, or even months. Why? Because too often specialists and medical services are overwhelmed with referrals and the painstakingly manual process it takes to qualify your referral prevents them from getting around to it on time, or sometimes at all. Tennr prevents these delays and denials by making sure every referral gets where it needs to go, with the right info, at the right time. Powered by RaeLM™ Tennr reads, extracts, and acts on every piece of patient information so providers can capture more referrals, slash denials, and reduce delays.
Role Description
The Operations SME for the DME vertical will serve as Tennr’s subject matter expert on durable medical equipment workflows. You will partner closely with sales, product, and customer-facing teams to ensure our solutions are grounded in operational reality and deliver measurable impact for customers. This is a hands-on role for a professional who knows the complexity of payer rules, documentation requirements, inventory/delivery management, and DME operational workflows — and who can bridge that expertise into scalable technology solutions.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Partner with sales to scope realistic and actionable statements of work (SOWs) for DME clients.
- Participate in client discovery sessions to identify operational pain points and uncover process improvement opportunities.
- Act as a bridge between operations and technology, translating practical workflows into scalable product solutions.
- Ensure product requirements align with customer needs, industry regulations, and payer rules.
- Help sustain customer relationships post-sale to drive long-term success.
- Assist in developing training and knowledge-sharing sessions to internal teams on DME best practices, payer requirements, and workflow optimization.
- Monitor regulatory and payer updates that affect DME, and proactively advise internal stakeholders.
- Support implementations by validating that Tennr’s solutions integrate seamlessly into existing DME operations.
Candidate Qualifications
Required
- 5–10+ years in durable medical equipment operations, clinical operations, or healthcare management.
- Deep knowledge of payer rules, documentation requirements, and EMR/EHR workflows related to DME.
- Proven ability to translate operational needs into product requirements and vice versa.
- Experience working cross-functionally with sales, product, and customer success teams.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Familiarity with process improvement (Lean/Six Sigma) or workflow redesign is a plus.
- Clinical or nursing background with experience in case management, care coordination, or utilization review is highly valuable.
- Bonus: Hands-on experience with AI-driven healthcare solutions or EMR/EHR integrations (Epic preferred).
