Deputy Director - Category Management

Roles and Responsibilities

Roles:

  • Responsible to manage the buying portfolio for Womens Apparel 
  • A comprehensive role which involves all aspects of business including Analytics, financial planning, range planning and managing direct and functional teams
  • Responsible for Business Growth & Profitability (topline, bottomline) for the portfolio including Inventory Planning, Assortment and directly managing the Buying function while working functionally with Sourcing, Design, Planning, Business Finance & Marketing teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible to optimize sales for the portfolio including
    • Revenue
    • Margins
    • Growth of categories
  • Range Planning (Assortment)
  • Product-Brand mapping
  • Product range planning for the category Planning / Identifying best sellers and planning for the replenishments
  • Effectively planning and forecasting to maximize profitability
  • Trend forecasts and implement sale plans
  • Financial analysis - Sales, Margin, Discount and Inventory related analysis
  • Option planning
  • OTB working along with the central planning team
  • Inventory Management
  • Planning for the inventory flow for entire category
  • Team and stakeholder Management - Co-ordinating with all functional teams to ensure and deliver Business Growth & margins
  • Enabling & building an optimal supply chain

Qualifications & Experience

  • 10+ years of experience with Apparel Buying Background
  • Experience as a mix of online & offline would be a plus
  • Product Category experience  for Women's wear categories
  • Excellent with numbers and in collecting, analysing and interpreting data.
  • Strong communication skills to be able to communicate effectively with Senior stakeholders, peers & juniors
  • Strong team building & team management skills
