Autodesk is seeking a smart, adaptable, and eager UI Software developer to work on state-of-the-art user interfaces for desktop and mobile applications within the Platform Organization of the Product Design and Manufacturing Solutions division. This role involves developing user-facing UI elements for sophisticated 3D design and manufacturing applications, focusing on toolbars, menus, heads-up displays, and tool parameter windows across desktop (Windows, Mac) and mobile (iOS, Android) platforms. This is an opportunity to contribute to revolutionary technology and develop innovative interfaces for cutting-edge applications.
Must have:
  • Develop user-facing interface elements in cross-platform applications on desktop and mobile.
  • Use knowledge of UI toolkits for application UI development to assess approaches and solutions.
  • Design and implement UI solutions in close collaboration with Experience Designers.
  • Design, prototype, implement, test and troubleshoot UI features according to market requirements and product specifications.
  • Work as an integral member of a high-performance team making important individual contributions.
  • Ensure high quality software by creating automated tests and working closely with the Quality Assurance group in problem resolution.
  • Provide good code documentation and other input to technical documents.
  • BS in Computer Science.
  • 4+ years working experience in UI Software Development.
  • Strong working experience with the C++ programming language.
  • Experience in using Qt/QML for UI development.
  • Experience with development tools like Git, Jira (or a similar issue-tracking system).
  • Familiarity with the software development processes - including specification, quality assurance and documentation.
Good to have:
  • Masters in Computer Science.
  • Familiarity with differences and nuances of UI paradigms for desktop and mobile platforms.
  • Ability to work on multiple complex projects simultaneously.
  • Flexibility and ability to respond quickly to multiple priorities, and under changing conditions.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Team player with strong influencing and negotiation skills.
  • A creative and innovative mindset, and attention to detail.

Position Overview

This is an exciting time to join us on our multi-year journey to disrupt the Design to Manufacture world with Fusion 360 by delivering unprecedented value and converging workflows with cloud-based technology. The role is in the Platform Organization within the Product Design and Manufacturing Solutions division. This team defines and builds the software platform the Fusion 360 family of products is built upon. We are looking for a smart, adaptable, and eager UI Software developer to work on state-of-the-art user interfaces for desktop and mobile applications.

Your role will involve all aspects of the user facing UI for sophisticated 3D applications for design and manufacturing. Specific focus will be on the application’s interfaces involving toolbars, menus, heads-up displays, tool parameter windows etc. And provide these in cross platform applications running on desktop(Windows and Mac) and mobile (iOS and Android).

Minimum Qualifications

  • BS in Computer Science (Masters preferred)
  • 4+ years working experience in UI Software Development.
  • Strong working experience with the C++ programming language required
  • Experience in using Qt/QML for UI development required
  • Familiarity with differences and nuances of UI paradigms for desktop and mobile platforms desired
  • Experience with development tools like Git, Jira (or a similar issue-tracking system) etc. required
  • Familiarity with the software development processes - including specification, quality assurance and documentation
