The Desktop Engineer L1 role involves providing comprehensive technical support for desktop and laptop systems. Key responsibilities include troubleshooting OS and standard software issues, installing and configuring systems, printers, scanners, and client applications. The role also covers email client support, network issues (LAN, DHCP), antivirus management, patch installation, and L1 support for meeting rooms. Candidates should have 1-2 years of experience in desktop support and an IT diploma or graduation.
Must have:
  • Troubleshooting desktop / laptop OS issues
  • Support for standard software issues
  • Installation / re-installation / configuration of systems, printers, scanners
  • Configure desktop and laptop as per company policies
  • Installation / re-installation / configuration of in-scope client software / applications
  • Installation / configuration and troubleshooting of e-mail clients
  • Troubleshooting printer / scanner related issues
  • Troubleshooting issues related to standard office software’s (MS Office) and internet client
  • Support for local area network issues (LAN), DHCP client
  • Install antivirus software and check virus definition auto updates
  • Install approved patches onto desktops / laptops
  • L1 Support for Meeting Room
  • Troubleshoot print queue related issues
  • Configure appropriate rights and permissions for accessing printers
  • Remove virus from respective desktop / laptop with the antivirus software
  • Diploma or Graduation in IT (15 years of education is mandatory)
  • 1-2 years of work experience in desktop support
Good to have:
  • Work experience preferably in HP products in Customer base, account management, computer customer support, on site customer support, Mission Critical, systems experience, or a related field

Desktop Support Engineer - L1

a. Troubleshooting desktop / laptop OS issues.

b. Support for standard software issues

c. Isolate system issues; diagnose standard software issues and report hardware issues to respective Vendors.

d. Installation / re-installation / configuration of systems, printers, scanners.

e. Configure desktop and laptop as per the desktop/laptop standardization policies of company

f. Installation / re-installation / configuration of in-scope client software / applications

g. Installation / configuration of e-mail clients

h. Troubleshooting e-mail client related issues

i. Troubleshooting printer / scanner related issues

j. Troubleshooting issues related to standard office software’s (MS Office Word, Xls, PowerPoint etc.) and internet client

k. Support for local area network issues (LAN), DHCP client

l. Install antivirus software and check virus definition auto updates

m. Install approved patches onto desktops / laptops.

n. L1 Support for Meeting Room.

o. Troubleshoot print queue related issues

p. Configure appropriate rights and permissions for accessing printers

q. Remove virus from respective desktop / laptop with the antivirus software.

r. Educating users on the usage of the Service Desk System for call logging and

  • Diploma or Graduation in IT (15 years of education is mandatory)
