Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director on a 12 month fixed term contract for our Strategy, BizDev, and Operations function, reporting into the VP of Global Markets Success. This critical role will focus on driving the strategic development, operations, and in-market activation of our global strategy across markets. As a high-profile position within the organization, the successful candidate will serve as the connective tissue between the markets function and the broader company, managing a team dedicated to delivering impactful business change and enhancing enterprise value.

This critical role will focus on driving the strategic development, operations, and in-market activation of our global strategy across markets. As a high-profile position within the organization, the successful candidate will serve as the connective tissue between the markets function and the broader company, managing a team dedicated to delivering impactful business change and enhancing enterprise value.

What you will accomplish :

Strategic Leadership:

  • Guide the strategic development of our portfolio and initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational goals from ideation to launch
  • Partner with Regional GMs and wider leadership on strategy, operations and planning

Market Activation:

  • Lead the in-market activation of global strategy, partnering with Market General Managers, BU, and BizOps partners.

Business Development:

  • Drive business development efforts that support the Global Markets Success strategy, including partnerships and inorganic opportunities

Team Management:

  • Oversee the GMS BizOps, BizDev, and Activation Teams, ensuring effective collaboration and execution of strategic priorities
  • Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement within the team

Executive Engagement & Communications:

  • Building relationships and driving collaboration across domains to improve efficiency and effectiveness, generating support using analysis and narrative
  • Driving key executive presentations and strategy reviews to provide clear updates across the portfolio

What you will bring

  • As a senior leader, you will be strong at stakeholder engagement and working in a matrixed environment. With standout communication skills, you will be confident at presenting at executive level and able to keep leaders regularly updated, flexing style and approach where needed. With an ability to lead change and build long term relationships, you can create positive business impact.
  • Strong examples of cross functional collaboration is required and being able to influence teams that do not report directly to you through an inclusive leadership style and timely delivery of projects. An ability to work with multiple stakeholders at all levels, you can build a strong internal and external network of personal relationships to identify issues and opportunities and provide positive, best-in-class perspectives to others.
  • With a proven track record in running complex projects, you are able to stay calm under pressure and deliver results. Throughout your career, there will be strong examples of creating, articulating and implementing high profile programs. You will have a validated ability to identify key program measurements and structure/lead a program to ensure achievement of established goals.
  • With a commercial mentality, you are passionate about delivering business outcomes that benefit our buyers and sellers plus a passion for our business and DNA!
  • Exposure to either the marketplace business is highly advantageous and working in a dynamic global environment within a corporate strategy function in e-commerce or tech or consultancy role at leadership level is key.
