As Director, Employee Communications – Global Tech, you will:
Partner directly with eBay’s Chief Technology Officer to lead internal communications for the global technology organization.
Serve as a strategic advisor and storyteller, aligning teams around a clear vision and shared goals.
Lead a high-performing communications team responsible for crafting compelling, culturally resonant messaging.
Work across global and business unit teams to ensure cohesive, transparent communication aligned with company strategy.
Play a central role in crafting how eBay’s technologists experience change, culture, and innovation.
In this role, you will:
Design and lead internal communication strategies that support enterprise-wide transformations, particularly in AI and technology.
Guide employees through change by encouraging clarity, engagement, and alignment during org shifts and central initiatives.
Shape and deliver messaging that demystifies complex technologies and connects them to business goals.
Drive cultural consistency across distributed teams, promoting collaboration, agility, and efficiency.
Support executive communications for the CTO and senior tech leadership, including strategic narratives, speaking points, and internal storytelling.
Lead and develop a distributed team of communications professionals, building shared vision, prioritization, and execution perfection.
Collaborate with global and business unit communications teams to align messaging, tone, and timing for maximum impact.
The ideal candidate will have:
12+ years of experience in employee and executive communications within large, global organizations—preferably in ecommerce, internet, or technology sectors.
8+ years of people management experience with a track record of building high-performing teams.
Proven expertise in change communications and executive alignment, particularly during AI, digital, or operational transformations.
Outstanding storytelling and writing skills, with a modern, clear, and concise style.
Ability to translate technical concepts into accessible language that resonates across roles and regions.
Strong interpersonal and stakeholder leadership skills; experience navigating matrixed environments and leading through ambiguity.
A BA in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field; a graduate degree (MS or MBA) is a strong plus.
A collaborative, curious, and agile approach, with the ability to balance critical thinking with executional rigor.
A passion for culture-building, innovation, and driving measurable impact through communication.

The base pay range for this position is expected in the range below:
$190,400 - $254,200Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
