Job Description

The Walt Disney World Resort seeks a part-time Dishwasher/Steward. Responsibilities include maintaining kitchen cleanliness, operating dishwashing machines, manually washing pots and pans, sorting and restocking kitchenware, and handling cleaning chemicals. The role involves heavy lifting (up to 20 lbs), pushing/pulling (up to 50 lbs), and prolonged standing/walking. Successful candidates must possess basic communication skills, understand sanitation principles, and be flexible to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Prior food service experience is preferred.

Job Summary:

Do you have strong organization skills and passion for Food and Beverage? Join the Walt Disney World Resort as a Dishwasher/Steward! As Stewards, we are a key part of the kitchen and are responsible for working in kitchen areas using large dish machines, manually washing pots, pans, stocking clean dishes, glassware, and silverware. Additional responsibilities include heavy lifting, working with chemicals, emptying trash cans, and mopping.

The pay rate for this role in Florida is $20.00 per hour.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the cleanliness of kitchens, guest areas, and corridors while handling cleaning chemicals and supplies
  • Handle loading and unloading large dish washing machines, manually scrub pots and pans as well as sort and restock kitchen items like pots, pans, plates, glassware, and utensils into designated locations
  • Work around food products, including but not limited to beef, pork, poultry, fish, shellfish, gluten, soy, peanuts, tree nuts, egg, and dairy products
  • Additional Personal Protective Equipment (face shields, goggles, refillable hand sanitizers, etc.) may be required

Basic Qualifications:

  • Basic communication skills (able to positively talk with Guests, Cast Members, and leadership)
  • Physical role requiring heavy lifting up to 20lbs, pushing and pulling up to 50 lbs., bending, and prolonged standing and walking
  • work in areas with loud noises and confined spaces
  • Understanding principles of proper sanitation
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently or as part of a team
  • Flexible and able to work a variety of shifts, including days, nights, weekends, holidays and special events
  • Part-time requires full availability for any shift, a MINIMUM of (3) THREE days per week, including nights and holiday

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Six (6) months of previous food and beverage dishwasher/ steward experience
  • Bilingual preferred

SCHEDULE AVAILABILTY
Our Theme Parks and Resort Hotels operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and some shifts may start as early as 5:00am while some may end as late as 3:00am, 4:00am or 5:00am. Please note that the principles of seniority are used to schedule all roles.
