Apple's OLED team is seeking an experienced and innovative Display Process Engineer to lead advancements in process, materials, and manufacturing for the world's best OLED displays used in devices like the Watch, iPhone, and iPad. The role involves careful engineering of OLED, Encapsulation, and Color Filter Layers to achieve superior electrical, optical, and mechanical characteristics with small bezels. This position offers a unique opportunity to solve complex technical challenges and drive impactful solutions throughout the display development cycle in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Must have:
  • B.S. in display engineering, electrical engineering, physics, materials science, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years relevant experience.
  • Experience in OLED Evaporation/Encapsulation, or Color Filter process/material, or Cell process/material and Opto-electronics.
Good to have:
  • M.S. in display engineering, electrical engineering, physics, materials science, or related fields.
  • 5+ years of experience in flat panel display: materials, processes, manufacturing, simulation, equipment, and methodology.
  • Experience with photo-lithography, thin films deposition and etching.
  • Experience with precision dispensing and inkjet coating processes.
  • Experience with optical & material characterization, surface and interfacial science, material chemistry, and device physics.
  • Experience with simulation and analysis such as Finite Element Analysis (FEA) for structural and thermal, Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD).
  • Ability to model Color Filter Process, OLED Evaporation, Encapsulation and Photolithography.
  • High degree of flexibility and self-sufficiency.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects without direct supervision.
  • Strong communication skills for cross-disciplinary collaboration.

These displays have the worlds best electrical, optical and mechanical characteristics while achieving the small display and product bezels. We’re looking for an experienced and innovative engineer to lead advancements in process, materials, and manufacturing processes in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. - Lead the seamless execution of OLED display processes by closely collaborating with cross-functional teams and managing vendor activities - Lead the development of new OLED and Color Filter processes technologies to meet the performance requirements of a wide range of display products - Drive display & component supply manufacturers aggressively on their technical innovation to achieve desired panel performance leap - Quickly solve problems faced during the development stages of products transitioning from proof of concept modules to high volume manufacturing - Design experiments to reach material solutions and corrective actions
  • B.S. in display engineering, electrical engineering, physics, materials science, or related field and minimum of 3 years relevant experience
  • Experience in OLED Evaporation/Encapsulation, Or color filter process/material, Or Cell process/material and Opto-electronics
  • M.S. in display engineering, electrical engineering, physics, materials science, or related fields
  • 5+ years of experience and proven track record in flat panel display : materials, processes, manufacturing, simulation, equipment and methodology is as plus
  • Experience with photo-lithography, thin films deposition and etching, Or precision dispensing and inkjet coating processes, Or optical & material characterization, surface and interfacial science, material chemistry and device physics
  • Experience with simulation and analysis such as Finite Element Analysis (FEA) for structural and thermal, Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD)
  • Ability to model Color Filter Process, OLED Evaporation, Encapsulation and Photolithography
  • High degree of flexibility—willing to fill in the gaps and being self-sufficient when necessary
  • Ability to handle multiple projects, programs and tactical and strategic development efforts without direct supervision
  • Strong communication skills to facilitate effective cross-disciplinary collaboration across diverse teams and cultures.
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $143,100 and $264,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
