Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer IV to join our Electrical Engineering team in Bogota, Colombia. This role is pivotal in designing electrical circuits, systems, and equipment, with a focus on power systems, electric service and supply systems, and lighting systems. Responsibilities include electrical installations design, detailed electrical calculations, specialized technical expertise, interdisciplinary collaboration, quality control, technical specifications, budget and schedule management, and leading various design documents.
Good To Have:
- 8+ years of experience.
- Experience with Revit to create 3D BIM models of electrical systems, adhering to all Levels of Development (LOD).
- Experience working with Common Data Environment platforms (e.g., BIM 360, ACC).
- Must be resourceful, highly organized, professional with attention to detail and people.
- Familiarity with clash detection software (Naviswork).
- Experience with renewable energy.
- Experience in projects such as water treatment facilities, industrial installations, transportation, buildings and utilities.
Must Have:
- Design, plan, and coordinate electrical systems for various types of infrastructure.
- Perform detailed electrical calculations for power distribution, lighting, emergency power systems, and electrical studies.
- Provide in-depth technical input for studies, designs, and technical assessments within the electrical engineering field.
- Participate in interdisciplinary project reviews to ensure cohesive and fully integrated designs.
- Conduct quality control reviews of electrical designs, calculations, and drawings.
- Prepare and manage technical specification sections related to electrical systems.
- Assist in the preparation of engineering budgets and schedules to align with project goals.
- Lead designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, construction specifications, and final working drawings.
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering with +6 years of professional experience in electrical design for electrical projects.
- Experience in developing Medium Voltage and High Voltage drawings, quantities list, specifications and reports in accordance with project requirements and industry standards (IEC/IEEE/ANSI).
- Experience in Medium Voltage and Low Voltage systems, power utilities systems.
- Experience performing early project design work such as conceptual studies, electrical loads, equipment sizing and selection, datasheets, and general arrangements.
- Proficiency with at least one engineering software.
- Knowledge of local and international American and European regulations.
- Intermediate/ Advanced command of English, both written and spoken.
