Job Description

As a Mechanical Engineering Practitioner, you will design, analyze, and build structures, machines, devices, systems, and mechanical processes. This role requires a strategic aerospace engineering leader specializing in rotary wing platforms, with a strong track record in driving technical delivery, innovation, and client satisfaction. You will shape engineering processes, delivery governance, and team capability development, influencing design and compliance strategies through engagement with OEMs, Tier-1 suppliers, and regulatory bodies. A passion for digital transformation, focusing on advancing MBSE, MBD, and digital continuity across the product lifecycle, is essential.
Must have:
  • Design and develop primary and secondary structural components for rotary-wing aircraft.
  • Ensure compliance with airworthiness regulations, structural integrity, and OEM design standards.
  • Apply advanced aircraft structural design principles, including load path analysis and material selection.
  • Develop 3D CAD models and 2D drawings using Siemens NX.
  • Prepare and manage detailed Bills of Materials (BOMs) via PLM tools like Teamcenter.
  • Perform weight estimation, tracking, and control across all design phases.
  • Incorporate Model-Based Definition (MBD) techniques for manufacturing and inspection processes.
  • Support Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) practices.
  • Analyze engineering requirements and translate them into manufacturable, certifiable solutions.
  • Collaborate and lead cross-functionally with stress analysis, manufacturing, quality, and systems teams.
  • Act as the primary technical interface with the client.
  • Evaluate complex design challenges using simulation feedback and stakeholder inputs.
  • Support and mentor junior team members in design methodologies, tools, and domain knowledge.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical, or Mechanical Engineering.
  • 12 to 15 years of practical experience in the Aerostructures domain, preferably rotary-wing aircraft.
  • In-depth understanding of aircraft load-bearing structures.
  • Strong awareness of stress analysis considerations, including fatigue, damage tolerance, and failure modes.
  • Practical knowledge of production tooling design, jigs & fixtures.
  • Familiarity with assembly line constraints, ergonomic considerations, and sequence planning.
  • Proficient in configuration management principles via PLM systems such as Teamcenter.
  • Expertise in 3D/2D modelling and detailing of structural components using Siemens NX.
  • Strong understanding of load path optimization, stress inputs, fatigue and damage tolerance, and design-for-certification.
  • Familiarity with airworthiness regulations (e.g., CS-27/29, FAR 23/25) and certification processes.
  • Advanced proficiency in Siemens NX and Teamcenter.
  • Solid grasp of GD&T, ASME Y14.5, and industry drawing standards.
  • Technically strong and solution-oriented, with ability to guide teams through ambiguity.
  • Proven experience in technical team leadership, task planning, design reviews, and decision-making.
  • Strong communication and client engagement skills.
  • Committed to mentoring junior engineers and contributing to organizational knowledge development.
  • Strategic thinker with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Proven experience in design and integration of rotary-wing and/or fixed-wing aircraft structures.

  • Position based at client location Bengaluru, 6 days a workweek, 8 working hours per day, strictly on-site.

  • Knowledge on CATIA V5.
  • Working knowledge of CATIA V5, VPM, or ENOVIA.
  • Experience managing design-to-cost, design-to-weight, and sustainability considerations.
  • Exposure to digital twin strategy, systems architecture alignment, and model validation.
  • Familiarity with digital engineering ecosystems, including MBD/MBSE implementation.

Roles & Responsibilities: • Design and develop primary and secondary structural components—both metallic and composite—for rotary-wing aircraft, ensuring compliance with airworthiness regulations, structural integrity requirements, and OEM-specific design standards. • Apply advanced aircraft structural design principles, including detailed load path analysis, optimal material selection based on stress and environmental conditions, and design-for-manufacturing (DFM) and design-for-assembly (DFA) considerations. • Development and evaluation of multiple structural design concepts through detailed trade-off analyses. • Develop 3D CAD models and 2D drawings using Siemens NX, adhering to industry and customer-specific modelling and drafting standards. • Prepare and manage detailed Bills of Materials (BOMs), ensuring traceability, version control, and configuration accuracy via PLM tools such as Teamcenter. • Perform weight estimation, tracking, and control across all design phases, ensuring alignment with weight budgets and performance criteria. • Incorporate Model-Based Definition (MBD) techniques to drive downstream manufacturing and inspection processes directly from 3D models. • Support Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) practices by validating design requirements and verifying that the structural models align with system-level functional and physical requirements. • Analyse engineering requirements and translate them into manufacturable, certifiable solutions, delivering outputs with minimal rework and within defined project timelines. • Collaborate and lead cross-functionally with stress analysis, manufacturing, quality, and systems teams; actively engage in design reviews, issue resolution, and integration discussions. Knowledge on CATIA V5 is plus. • Strong understanding of load path optimization, stress inputs, fatigue and damage tolerance, and design-for-certification. • Familiarity with airworthiness regulations (e.g., CS-27/29, FAR 23/25), OEM design standards, and FAA/EASA certification processes. • Advanced proficiency in Siemens NX, Teamcenter, and other PLM/PDM tools. Additional Information: - The candidate should have a minimum of 12 - 15 years of practical experience in the Aerostructures domain, preferably with exposure to rotary-wing aircraft platforms and full design cycle involvement. - This position is based at client location Bengaluru and 6 days a workweek requiring 8 working hours per day and The role is strictly on-site and requires physical presence at the client’s office in Bangalore. .- A B Tech in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace engineering is required
