Elsewhere Entertainment is seeking an Expert Concept Artist to develop a new IP, focusing on creating memorable designs and art for weapons. The role involves building concepts for all production stages, including sketches, high-level paintings, gameplay paint-overs, and marketing assets. The artist will produce environment, prop, and character designs, ensuring authenticity through research and game knowledge, while contributing to a respectful and collaborative studio environment.
Must have:
  • Create concepts for all production stages (sketches, paintings, paint-overs, marketing assets).
  • Produce environment, prop, and character designs.
  • Generate quick conceptualization sketches.
  • Develop both photo-realistic and stylized concepts.
  • Learn and play the game to inform concept designs.
  • Research subject matter for authentic experiences.
  • 12+ years of experience in high-quality 2D art and concepts.
  • Excellent communication skills with multiple departments.
  • Attention to detail and proactive problem-solving.
  • Ability to take direction and contribute own ideas.
Good to have:
  • Knowledge of 3D applications like Blender, Maya, Zbrush, Sketch-up.
  • Have shipped 1 or more AAA games.
  • Major recognition in your field of work.
  • Experience in adjacent disciplines such as quest design, environment art, programming, etc.

Elsewhere Entertainment is looking for an Expert Concept Artist to join the development of a new IP. As a member of the Art department, you’ll create memorable designs and art for an array of weapons. You’ll help take the studio and our game from great to even better—with a focus on inclusivity, mutual respect (for ourselves and our players), thoughtfulness, empathy, professionalism, and collaboration.### You’ll help us by…* Build concepts for all stages of production. This may include: loose sketches,* high level paintings, gameplay paint-overs, and marketing assets.* Produce environment, prop, and character designs.* Turn around quick conceptualization sketches.* Build both photo-realistic and stylized concepts as decided by the project.* Learn and play the game, making sure concept designs are informed and well-researched.* Research subject matter relating to objectives to ensure an authentic experience.### You're awesome because you have...* Proven ability of creating high-quality 2D art and concepts (12+ years)* A strong foundation in traditional art, color theory, composition, perspective, anatomy, and lighting* Expertise in Photoshop* Understand the concept art pipeline from the ideation stage to the final rendered image.* Understand the limitations of the game development pipeline.* Excellent communication skills with multiple departments and different personalities, attention to detail, proactive in resolving problems.* Ability to take direction and feedback from the team as well as contributing your own ideas.### Bonus Points for...* Knowledge of 3d applications like Blender, Maya, Zbrush, Sketch-up is a plus* Have shipped 1 or more AAA games* Major recognition in your field of work* Experience in adjacent disciplines such as quest design, environment art, programming, etc.Not sure you meet all qualifications?
