Field Service Engineer 2

Job Description

The Field Service Engineer 2 supports the Imaging Systems business within an assigned geographical area (Stanford and South Bay). The Field Service Engineer 2 will be responsible for customer relationship management through the effective use of technical knowledge to install, troubleshoot, service, and maintain equipment at customer sites. The Field Service Engineer 2 will also generate service revenue while adhering to state and federal regulatory requirements.

Your role:

  • Build credibility and trust with customers by conducting proactive customer visits. Provide appropriate, timely, and regular communications to customer and internal key stakeholders regarding customer and equipment issues.
  • Adopt, develop and implement best practices. Provide feedback and recommendations for product and process improvements. Proactively schedules activities & makes him/herself available to assist others.
  • Operate under the required knowledge of State and Federal regulatory requirements. Adheres to established training, quality, and safety requirements. Manages company assets effectively in accordance with established Philips processes and guidelines including labor time, parts ordering and returns, tools and test equipment calibration, purchase orders, equipment, company vehicles, business expenditures, etc.
  • Must be qualified and perform work in at least one modality. May be asked to become qualified in and perform work in multiple modalities. Recognized as an expert in and outside of assigned team. Pursues knowledge of technical advances and current industry trends. Seeks out formal and informal training opportunities. Independently resolve equipment and customer issues.

You're the right fit if:

  • You’ve acquired 4+ years of experience in IT, Network Diagnosis, System Connectivity, Remote Service within Engineering, Medical, Science related environment or equivalent with Vocational Education (if you do not possess at least a bachelor's degree).
  • Your skills include strong organization aptitude, self-discipline, and the ability to work independently. You must also be able to communicate effectively with various levels of employees and customers both verbally and in writing.
  • You have at least a bachelor’s degree in electronics or a related field and 0+ years of experience (no bachelor's required if you have 4+ years of related experience).
  • You must be able to successfully perform the following minimum Physical, Cognitive and Environmental job requirements with or without accommodation for this position.
  • You’re a team player who understands and utilizes technical vocabulary to perform tasks according to either verbal or written instructions and also possess the ability to read and interpret schematics and site drawings.

How we work together

We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week. Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company’s facilities. Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company’s main facilities, generally at the customers’ or suppliers’ locations.

Philips Transparency Details

The pay range for this position in California is $30.69 to $49.11 per hour.

The actual base pay offered may vary within the posted ranges depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity.

In addition, other compensation, such as an annual incentive bonus, sales commission or long-term incentives may be offered. Employees are eligible to participate in our comprehensive Philips Total Rewards benefits program, which includes a generous PTO, 401k (up to 7% match), HSA (with company contribution), stock purchase plan, education reimbursement and much more. At Philips, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each case.

US work authorization is a precondition of employment. The company will not consider candidates who require sponsorship for a work-authorized visa, now or in the future.

Company relocation benefits will not be provided for this position. For this position, you must reside in or within commuting distance to Stanford and South Bay, CA
