They are seeking talented individuals with experience in Space systems and applications to join their growing German operations. The Flight Dynamics team supports a variety of satellite missions, from low Earth orbit to deep space, from initial phases through end-of-life. This role involves spacecraft telemetry retrieval, processing, and monitoring, predicting spacecraft states, generating telemetry commanding files, and spacecraft sensor calibration.
Must have:
  • University degree in engineering, astronomy, mathematics, or physics
  • Strong skills in linear algebra and calculus
  • Proficiency in numerical methods
  • Excellent understanding of classical mechanics
  • Ability to define, implement, and operate software solutions
  • Willingness to take operational responsibility
  • Fluency in English (spoken and written)
Good to have:
  • Ability to solve mechanics problems using analytical methods (e.g., Lagrangian formulation)
  • Experience with Unix and/or Linux scripting languages, Fortran 77/95, Python, C++

Job Description

Our Flight Dynamics team supports a wide range of missions from early phases to end of life of satellites and from low earth orbit to deep space missions. If you want to build a career among the stars in the biggest and most innovative European Operation Centre of satellites - apply today!

For the procurement of services under this Frame Contract, the required operations engineering support activities are described in missions specific WPDs. The WPD defines the different tasks related to the phases, roles and disciplines as applicable for the respective mission.

The main support services required are in the following areas:

  • Spacecraft Telemetrie retrieval, processing, and monitoring
  • Prediction of spacecraft state (attitude, mass, modes, AOCS parameters)
  • Generation of spacecraft Telecommanding files
  • Spacecraft sensor calibration (Star Tracker, Sun Sensor, Magnetometer, Gyros)

Qualifications

  • University degree in a relevant engineering field, astronomy, mathematics or physics
  • Very good skills in linear algebra, in particular for problem solving related to geometry in the Euclidean 3–dimensional space.
  • Very good skills in calculus in one or several variables.
  • Skills in numerical methods
  • Very good skills in classical mechanics
  • Ability to solve mechanics problems via analytical mechanics methods (e.g. Lagrangian formulation) is a valuable asset.
  • Ability to define, implement, validate and operate software which applies the above solutions (using e.g. Unix and/or Linux scripting languages, Fortran 77 and/or 95, Python, C++)
  • Will to take operational responsibility in multi-discipline teams
  • Fluency in English, both in speech and writing
