Pentair is seeking a Foundry Production Supervisor for its Ashland, Ohio team. This role is responsible for ensuring business goals are met by providing adequate resources, work direction, and problem-solving, while driving out waste through Lean methodology. The supervisor will oversee safe operations, set and assess performance against goals, develop talent, and manage day-to-day production activities, ensuring a clean and safe work environment. Key responsibilities include managing safety indicators, leading people through Workday transactions for hiring and onboarding, reviewing production activities, performing daily audits on safety, quality, and productivity, developing schedules, managing resources, ensuring timely disposition of scrap, and coordinating vacation schedules. The role also involves providing input for employee requisitioning, placement, and training.
Must have:
  • 5+ years of leadership experience in a foundry environment

  • Mentoring, coaching, and developing talent
  • Ability to lead and coordinate multi-functional team projects
  • Standard computer and software skills (Office Suite, ERP etc.)

We have an opportunity for a Foundry Production Supervisor to join our Ashland, OH team. You will provide adequate resources, on-going work direction and problem solving to ensure business goals are met under the guidelines of the company policies and procedures. This role acts as a change agent to drive out waste throughout the manufacturing operation through the deployment of the Lean methodology. In this role, the Foundry Supervisor will be responsible for safe operations, setting and assessing performance against goals, and developing talent.

You will:

  • Manages the foundry with a focus on leading and lagging safety indicators to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Strong Win Right Values; Maintains a Customer First attitude.
  • As a Leader of People, I will be responsible for Workday transactions for employee hiring, onboarding and offboarding, either directly or through subordinates.
  • Reviews/Ensures success of the day-to-day production activities within the foundry while driving improvements.
  • Assures a clean and safe working environment for all employees, emphasizing prevention of potential problems and hazardous conditions.
  • Performs daily audits on safety, quality, and productivity metrics.
  • Responsible for developing and monitoring schedules, manpower, leader’s standard work and quality standards.
  • Manages resources of the assigned areas of the foundry.
  • Ensure timely disposition of scrap and non-conforming materials.
  • Executes, manages, and coordinates the department’s vacation schedule to ensure adequate coverage and completion of departments work products.
  • Provides input and makes recommendations for requisitioning, placing, and training of employees assigned to designated production area.

Key Qualifications: 

  • 5+ years of leadership experience in a foundry environment required; experience managing hourly direct reports.
  • Iron Sand Foundry experience preferred.
  • Experience with working in a union environment desired.
  • Experience mentoring, coaching, and developing talent and future leaders within a manufacturing environment.
  • Lean manufacturing experience highly preferred
  • Ability to lead and coordinate multi-functional team projects.
  • Standard computer and software skills (Office Suite, ERP etc.)
  • Able to work 5:30am - 4:00pm Monday through Thursday and Fridays when required.

Compensation:

For this full-time position working at this location, the anticipated annualized base pay range will be from $61200 - $113600 / year. At Pentair, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the pay range. Pentair considers various factors in determining actual compensation for this position at the expected location. Actual compensation will be commensurate with a demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, work location, and other relevant business or organizational needs. This position may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as, annual incentive bonus.
