Full Stack Engineer Contractor (Chile)

About the role

Gala is building a new world of entertainment powered by web3 technology. As a contractor Full-Stack Engineer, you'll play a critical role in building cutting-edge experiences for clients across our decentralized platform. This role is ideal for someone who’s passionate about games, full-stack development, and delivering high-quality software.

We're looking for a seasoned engineer with deep experience in both front-end and back-end technologies who can take ownership of features from concept to production and help shape the future of Gala.

What you'll do

• Design & Build: Architect, develop, and take ownership of full-stack features and web applications using TypeScript, React, Node.js (Express or similar), and other modern technologies.
• Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work closely with product managers, designers, and blockchain engineers to build delightful and performant user experiences.
• Optimize Performance: Profile and fine-tune apps to ensure they remain scalable, fast, and secure under heavy load.
• Champion Best Practices: Lead by example with clean, maintainable, and well-documented code. Participate in code reviews, contribute to documentation, and mentor junior engineers to raise the overall engineering bar.
• Web3 Integration: Simplify decentralized technologies—wallets, smart contracts, indexing—by collaborating with blockchain engineers to wrap them in intuitive, user-friendly experience

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, ideally with a focus on consumer-facing applications.
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript, including both frontend (React, Redux, TailwindCSS) and backend (Node.js, Express) ecosystems.
• Solid understanding of AWS infrastructure (certification is a plus).
• Strong understanding of blockchain architecture and smart contracts.
• Experience with frameworks like Vue3/Nuxt3/Pinia is a plus.
• Solid understanding of REST and GraphQL APIs.
• Experience with databases, both relational (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB).
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, debugging tools, and application monitoring.
• A passion for web3, crypto, or NFTs is highly encouraged.
• Experience in video game or gamified consumer apps development is a plus.
• Excellent ability to work cross-functionally in a fast and agile environment, showing ownership and driving the development from end to end.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, highly collaborative, and dynamic environment.
• Nice to have: Previous experience working on mobile apps with React Native
