Game Designer

Location : Burbank, California, United States

Duration : 3+ Months


Description:

COPE: Plans and defines all elements and components of an electronic game including setting, structure, rules, story flow, interface design, and modes of play within the constraints of time and budget.

Conveys vision and wins approval of concept through a prototype version of the game using help from programmers, producers and others.

Creates required documentation to support full production.

Adjusts original game specifications based on technical constraints.

Provides oversight and leadership to the team of artists, animators, and programmers who build out the final product; ensures full understanding of the original concept and vision.


KNOWLEDGE:

A seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of area of specialization; resolves a wide range of issues in creative ways.

This job is the fully qualified, career-oriented, journey-level position.


COMPLEXITY:

Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors.

Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Networks with senior internal and external personnel in own area of expertise.


SUPERVISION:

Normally receives little instruction on day-to-day work, general instructions on new assignments.


EXPERIENCE:

Typically requires 4-6 years of related experience.
