An exciting opportunity has arisen for a HSE Advisor - Infrastructure to join Rolls-Royce Submarines. This role supports the Royal Navy's nuclear submarine fleet by implementing HS&E management arrangements, ensuring compliance, and driving a zero-harm culture. The advisor will engage stakeholders, conduct site inspections, provide professional guidance, and contribute to HSE system improvements, focusing on high-hazard activities and contractor management.
Must have:
  • Actively engaging and communicating with various stakeholders to positively influence a strong HSE culture on site.
  • Perform and record regular site tours/inspections ensuring acceptable standards and behaviours are being followed at all times.
  • Providing professional advice and guidance to various stakeholders
  • Contribute towards ensuring our HSE management systems are continually improved.
  • Identifying trends and ensuring improvement plans in place are completed in full.
  • NEBOSH Certificate (General/Construction)
  • Previous experience as a HSE Advisor/Manager within construction or facilities management
  • Have a proven track record working with contractors on construction / infrastructure projects.
Good to have:
  • Ideally hold NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent
  • IEMA/ISEP Environmental Certificate or equivalent

We are looking for an experienced facility management (FM)/ small construction works biased HSE Advisor that is familiar with CDM regulations and in managing high hazard activities such as working at height, fire and lifting operations with a good level of experience in managing contractor activities.

Reporting to the local HSE Manager and based on a sound understanding of the local HSE performance and risk profile, you will support the implementation of HS&E management arrangements to ensure compliance with HSE requirements and support the drive towards a zero harm culture in support of RRSL’s priorities. You will be part of a team to define and deliver agreed improvement plans and be proactive in seeking out emerging issues. Help to identify and promote good practice as well as working collaboratively with Business HS&E colleagues and the wider HS&E function, to build a sense of team and ensure alignment to Business and functional strategies.

To work for the Rolls-Royce Submarines Business an individual has to hold a Security Check (SC) clearance without any caveats to that clearance. Rolls-Royce will support the application for Security Clearance if the individual does not currently already have this in place.

Due to the nature of work the Business conducts and the protection of certain assets a person has to be a UK national or in MoD approved cases a Dual National from a non ITAR country.
