We are seeking a skilled Instrumentation Fitter (Maintenance Electrician Fitter) to join our maintenance team at our locomotive assembly plant. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting electrical systems and equipment throughout the facility to ensure optimal production operations.
Responsibilities:
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical systems and equipment
- Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical problems in manufacturing machinery and facility systems
- Repair or replace faulty electrical components, wiring, and equipment
- Install new electrical systems and equipment as part of facility upgrades or expansions
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals
- Maintain and repair lighting systems, power distribution systems, and control panels
- Perform regular inspections of electrical systems to ensure safety and compliance
- Respond to emergency electrical issues and conduct repairs to minimize downtime
- Collaborate with other maintenance teams to address interdisciplinary issues - Maintain accurate logs of maintenance activities and parts usage
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives for maintenance processes
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or technical degree in electrical systems preferred
- 5+ years of experience as an industrial electrician, preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, including high voltage
- Experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and motor controls
- Familiarity with HVAC systems, compressed air systems, and industrial equipment
- Understanding safety standards
- Valid driver's license and ability to operate necessary equipment

- Proficiency in reading electrical schematics and technical documents
- Experience with predictive and preventive maintenance techniques
- Knowledge of energy management and efficiency practices
