Building a future of trust together

Thales is a global high-tech leader specializing in three sectors: Defense & Security, Aeronautics & Space, and Cyber & Digital. It develops products and solutions that contribute to a safer, more environmentally friendly, and more inclusive world. The Group invests nearly 4 billion euros per year in Research & Development, particularly in key innovation areas such as AI, cybersecurity, quantum, cloud technologies, and 6G. Thales has nearly 81,000 employees in 68 countries.

Our commitments, your benefits

  • Our technological expertise
  • Our attention to employee balance
  • An inclusive and benevolent environment
  • Recognized societal and environmental commitment (Thales Solidarity, CAC 40 ESG index…)

Your daily life

At the heart of Saint Quentin en Yvelines, the Elancourt site is one of Thales' most important technological centers of excellence. The diversity and technicality of the systems and equipment mobilize expertise in more than 80 professions in defense solutions, high-tech security, and digital services.

The host team is composed of about twenty engineers (multi-skilled and/or experts) responsible for conducting algorithmic studies, designing and developing operational software components (algorithms actually embedded in operational systems), and guaranteeing their performance. The application areas covered by the department are: airborne radar processing (in particular SAR imaging modes (signal processing) and the processing of images produced by these modes (target detection/recognition, ...)), electronic warfare processing (detection, sorting, tracking, localization, identification of intercepted radar signals, ...), situation awareness processing (tracking, data fusion, connectivity, resource allocation ...).

The proposed internship topic concerns a part of the identification processing of an Electronic Warfare system. The system's interceptions allow comparing measured electromagnetic parameters with libraries of known RADAR waveforms. The input data consists of lists of electromagnetic parameters, to be compared with templates from intelligence. As part of this internship, you will participate in the development and evaluation of learning algorithms applied to electronic warfare.

Your main missions will be:

  • Problem analysis: appropriation of the subject and definition of technical and scientific challenges
  • Data collection and understanding:
  • Analysis of
