Job Description
As a Java Sr. Developer at Nielsen Marketing Cloud, you will design, build, and manage our application server, focusing on creating highly distributed, scalable, high-performing, and cost-effective systems. You'll work with a large-scale, distributed system processing 25TB of daily data using cloud infrastructure and NoSQL databases. Responsibilities include designing and implementing new features and improvements to meet evolving market demands. You'll also have opportunities to work on serverless systems and big data pipelines. The role requires expertise in Java and Java frameworks, problem-solving, and excellent communication skills.
Good To Have:

Must Have:
- 6+ years Java server-side development experience
- Experience with Java frameworks
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Experience with NoSQL databases (e.g., Aerospike)
- Design and implement new features
The Nielsen Marketing Cloud (NMC) helps publishers, advertisers and agencies with targetable audience data for programmatic advertising. We connect leading online publishers with advertisers, ad agencies and ad networks who seek to create a more interest-tailored online advertising experience.
This team manages a large-scale, distributed system processing 25TB of daily data using cloud infrastructure and NoSQL databases (like Aerospike). Performance, cost-effectiveness, scalability, and strict SLAs are critical. Developers will design and implement new features and improvements to meet evolving market demands.
About the role
- In your role as a Java Sr Developer, you'll design, build, and manage our application server. Your focus will be on achieving highly distributed, scalable, high-performing, and cost-effective systems. Additionally, you’ll have the opportunity to work on other types of projects and technologies like serverless systems and big data pipelines.
Qualifications
- A degree in computer science or equivalent
- At least 6+ years of hands-on experience in server-side development working on several complex projects
- Experience working with Java and Java frameworks
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Good English (verbal AND written)
