This role involves implementing, maintaining, and continuously improving all Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) related areas, ensuring legal compliance, client requirements, and H&S management system standards are met at the site. Key responsibilities include managing HSE communication, promoting awareness, conducting training, reporting and investigating incidents, facilitating risk assessments, and implementing global H&S initiatives. The coordinator will also conduct internal audits, evaluate business processes, and assist with external audits to support the overall H&S strategy.
Must Have:- Implement, maintain, and continuously develop all HSE related areas.
- Ensure legal compliance, client requirements, and H&S management system standards.
- Manage clear HSE related communication between role players.
- Promote HSE awareness through campaigns and communications.
- Conduct H&S training aligned with HSMS and local regulatory requirements.
- Report and manage H&S related incidents, near misses, hazards, and best practices.
- Conduct Incident Investigations.
- Facilitate Risk Assessments through the Crystal module.
- Implement Global H&S Initiatives (Safe Start, Stellar, Safety Month, etc.).
- Ensure corrective action implementation from Incidents / Best Practices.
- Conduct internal H&S audits and inspections / site visits.
- Evaluate business process, procedures in relation to changes and amendments.
- Assist locations with internal and external audits, client visits, governmental / regulatory visits.
- Timeously conduct inspections and compile report relating to HSE matters.
- Adhere and ensure adherence to all safety requirements of the SGS management system.
- SAMTRAC / NEBOSH (Completed or in progress).
- Matric / National Senior Certificate.
- 2 - 4 years relevant HSE work experience.
- Advance Microsoft software experience.
- Document and report writing experience.
- Broad knowledge of applicable legislations.
- Knowledge on ISO 45001, ISO14001.
- Systems and Legal auditing.
- Good personnel / communication skills.
- Investigation knowledge & skill.
- Risk assessing in practice.
- Ability to understand and explain technical (HSE specific) topics.
- Sufficient knowledge of English for H&S communication.
