As a Jr Support Technician, you will be a central part of the IT team supporting day-to-day IT functions, including onboarding new hires, troubleshooting hardware/software issues, and administering systems. You will be the first point of contact for triage and escalation of incoming requests. You will also be tasked with basic maintenance, organization, and inventory tracking. You will provide Level 1 technical support, perform technical onboarding, troubleshoot peripherals, and support conference room hardware/software. You'll also provide training and create technical documentation. You will triage and track IT requests, troubleshoot applications and actively collaborate with the IT team and other departments.
Must have:
  • Experience in an IT support environment, VFX preferred.
  • Experience with Windows and Mac operating systems.
  • Understanding of networking, hardware, and software.
  • Ability to remotely provide direction to resolve technical issues.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

About the Position:

As a Jr Support Technician, you will be a central part of the IT team that supports day to day IT functions, including onboarding new hires, troubleshooting hardware/software issues, and administering systems. You will be the first point of contact for triage and escalation of incoming requests. You will also be tasked with basic maintenance, organization, and inventory tracking. Potential for professional growth in supporting systems in VFX and gaming development environments.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide Level 1 technical support assisting multiple affiliate or subsidiary companies.
  • Perform technical onboardings of new staff and contractors.
  • Deploy/troubleshoot peripherals, printers, VoIP phones, computers, and mobile devices.
  • Troubleshoot and setup conference room software/hardware, including supporting varying AV needs.
  • Provide individual instruction and/or training to users on new or updated technology.
  • In collaboration with the IT team and third-party vendors, add to and create technical documentation and other related materials to assist growth of departmental knowledge.
  • Perform routine technical assistance and maintenance duties.
  • Triage, track, and escalate incoming IT requests.
  • Troubleshoot applications in PC / Mac / environments: Office 365 Suite, Azure, Slack, Google Workspace, GitHub, etc.
  • Perform data entry and maintenance of inventory records.
  • Actively collaborate with members of the IT team and with other departments.


Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 1-3 years of experience in an IT support environment; preferably in a VFX, Animation, or Video Game studio.
  • Experience with diverse operating system environments: Windows, Mac.
  • Basic understanding of networking, computer hardware, and software concepts.
  • Ability to perform routine preventive maintenance on systems software, hardware, and communications equipment.
  • Knowledge of current technological developments/trends.
  • Records maintenance and asset tracking experience.
  • Ability to remotely provide direction to staff to resolve technical issues.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders in diverse scenarios.
  • Ability to diagnose technical issues and coordinate with other staff and vendors.
  • Ability to analyze and resolve basic technical problems.
  • Ability to communicate technical guidance and instruction to users.
  • Experience with MDMs, networking, automation, and imaging are pluses, but not required.
  • Ability to work a Sun-Thu 6am-3pm shifted schedule after an initial training period.

The typical base salary for this position ranges from $28.00 - $36.00 hourly. Actual offers will be determined based on experience.
